CHICAGO, Illinois, January 25, 2013 - A new Cold War is brewing here in Chicagos Hyde Park neighborhood and it has nothing to do with the frigid temperature. The apartment building at 832 E. 57th Street was once the Chicago home of a boy who would become a President. No, its not Barack Obama of Hawaii. It was at the apartments first floor window that a young Ronald Reagan looked out upon the world. But some powerful Chicagoans are planning to demolish Reagans historic home. Is it politically motivated? Is Mayor Rahm Emanuel behind the move? Reagan as a child. It was a different world back in 1915. Reagan's family had moved here from Tampico, Illinois. His father had gotten a job at the famed Marshall Fields now only a memory. A coin-operated gas lamp was the only homes only source of heat. But it didnt stop a young Dutch Reagan from dreaming. Young Reagan would watch the horse-drawn fire engines galloping wildly down the streets to save the day and he decided that he, too, would become a firefighter. It was here, too, that he survived a bout with pneumonia he had the fight in him even then. You can almost imagine him skipping down these streets, playing with his brother Neil, whose nickname was Moon.

Doesn’t really matter, some crappy apartment in a dying city? Who is really going to go there (especially with the gun ban they have)? Not me and not any body I know. Sure the Lib’s there are trying to rub it in the face of conservatives but it’s the ideas that matter not some apartment.
Kinda like building Dome of the Rock on Temple Mount.
When it's chosen, you won't be told where it is, and if you got in there you wouldn't be allowed to read anything.
Why doesn’t Obama put his library in Hawaii?
Isn’t that what all presidents do?
Their home state?
LOL!
This move tells a lot about Obama’s lack of a home state.

two of Mo-Hammed’s brothers:
Hussein (”maybe a little blow”)
Hasan (Fort Hood)
- just coincidences?

LOL.
You’re right.
No home state!
BFD, are y’all kidding me? Reagan lived there only a couple years as a very small child, this property has no historical significance IMO. Or maybe the Army Air Corps barracks that George Bush lived in during WWII should also be preserved as a historical monument?

I don't think Kenya would let us build a Library in their country.
Why doesnt he put his library in Kenya ?
Kinda surprised it is not on the historic housing listing. Since it is not, it probably is not much value to keeping it. I would say the reason is because he probably didn’t live their long. How many homes does a president need preserved anyway. Heck he has many building named after him and the Reagan Airport. A childhood home is probably not necessary to keep or they would.
Here we go again, the headline doesnt match the story.
They always put crappy lying headlines....it sorta stretches to say that they MIGHT put the Obama Library there but not sure yet. This has been going on for years and tons of building have already been torn down. Just another story to ensure that conservatives are pissed about this while amnesty passes and debt go up up up. For once, I wish that we would put important energy into something important like the 2nd Amendment. I see more concern with this story than losing our 2nd Amendment. What a shame!
I know, I’m angry enough already. I don’t need them to make up things to be angry about.
Right?
That’s the one...he can frame his forged BC and hang it where the paper roll usually goes.
