This afternoon in Las Vegas, President Obama reminded most American citizens that they were descended from immigrants themselves. Obama warned that the issue was an emotional one, but that it was important for Americans to not view it as us versus them. Its really important to remember our history, Obama continued. Unless you were one of the first Americans, a Native American, you came from someplace else, somebody brought you, he said

Let’s not forget that we’re not talking about LEGAL immigration, but illegal immigration (a.k.a. gate-crashing, invading).
The two types are always being conflated, and you never hear talking heads use the “i” word (illegal).
I’m descended from immigrants, but my Great-Grandfather came here legally on a ship from Europe. He didn’t hop a fence or sign up for entitlements at the first opportunity, and he learned how to speak English.
Thanks for expanding. I knew I was onto something, just couldn’t articulate it, and you did it perfectly.
The Indigenous Peoples HERE before Europeans were not Americans OR Indians, original or otherwise. You’d think he might know that too.
In fact ‘American Indians’ is something of an oxymoron.
Sort of like obama calling himself an American when he is really anything but. He is to America what kryptonite was to Superman.
Furthermore, while HE might have come from someplace else and might not even know where, I didn’t. I was born here. I am a Native American. Period.
And where does it, this kind of thinking, come from? Why, it comes straight from Obama’s mentor professor William Ayers himself, for whom individuals are nothing, and 20 to 30 million of them can and should probably be gotten rid of on the road to Utopia. We know exactly who inspired such thinking in the past century.
Is that Obama’s excuse for letting any illegal cross our non-existent borders? Sorry Obama, the ‘other’ people who came her did it legally. It’s the difference between a valued guest in your home and a thief. Both are people who came to your home - but very different in how they’re welcomed or not... Grow up democrats.
american indians came from some place else also...last I read they mirgragted from russia to alaska when there was a land bridge there..
Defining “alien” down.
Where’d the Native Americans come from, dumbass?
I didn't come here though; I was born here.
No dumb-axx (hussein) - I was born right here in America like my parents, I did not come from somewhere else.
Sorry, but I believe even the indians came over the Bering Straight from Eurasia.
President dumb ass can always be counted on for irrelevant lectures. I’d like to hear what comrade obama’s perspective is on the Native American experience with uncontrolled immigration and what they might have done differently if they had the chance to do start all over.
Bet the dumb Kenyan bastard thought he was being profound and deep when he said it.
Most of the Native Americans I’ve met came from Flagstaff.
You’re the one who came here with Kenyan cowsh*t caked between your toes, Lord of Flies.
There was no “here” as we know it for the first settlers to be “brought to”. They came to a land mass BUILT this freedom and opportunity place called America. The equivalent would be to give our neighbors to the south a mass of empty land, throw in some enemies for them to fight and they can build houses, farm the land, build roads, create a government, invent everything, mine ores, make a monetary system, etc. and...when they have gotten to the point that they can build a cell phone and a wireless system...they can give us a call.
Isn’t he just brilliant?
Long ago and far away, many of us escaped our bondage by coming across the Caucuses Mountains-—we are Caucasians.
We settled Europe and eventually came to America and founded it on Christian principles.
Whereas, SOME of us came from Kenya (or elsewhere), and lied about our origins when running for the POTUS position.
Our lame-brained propagandized brethren voted for the color of Bath-House’s skin and not the content of his Kenite character.
There are other theories and compelling evidence to make the claim that the first people here didn’t originate from the steppes of central Asia but from the Scandinavian countries, skirting Greenland and down along the eastern seaboard of present day Nova Scotia and Maine in ships. Most likely Vikings or other Europeans.
