COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Police have arrested a Colerain man after he posted a photo of himself on Facebook holding his 1-year-old daughter and a BB gun.
Domonic Gaines, 22, was arrested after the incident which occurred at his home on Suliner Drive Sunday.
According to reports, police initially believed that Gaines was holding a handgun in the photo. However, police say the gun in question turned out to be a BB gun.
The photo depicted Gaines holding his daughter, Paradise Gaines, along with the BB gun. Police say that the close proximity of the gun to the child created a substantial risk of physical harm.
Police say they found the BB gun at the residence after the arrest was made.
"It's really been blown out of proportion," said Gaines' father, Wilson Dykes.
Dykes claims that it was the baby's maternal grandmother who saw the photo and called the police.
Gaines was arraigned on Monday morning on Child Endangerment charges. He's being held without bond in the Hamilton County Jail.

Is this satire? Do the police arrest themselves anytime they get near a child with their real guns? Sounds like someone has a fat selective enforcement lawsuit on their hands.

If what you posted was only critical of the actions (like the mature, adult postings) then nothing would have been said. Instead, you go on the attack like some self righteous crusader, who incidentally, Does not have all the facts and does not wish to know them, just like a typical liberal.
I like how they described the woman as “the baby’s grandmother”, not as his mother in law.
So the new headline, “Man’s mother in law gets him in trouble with the police.”

I was thinking exactly that last night as I was hearing about the compilation of stories about how schools are over reacting to children and paper guns, hello kitty bubble guns, fingers used as guns, etc.
By taking such extreme stands “out of fear” that children will become used to guns and therefore someday USE a gun, then the schools are admitting that with their continual PUSH of sex ed on younger and younger students, then it is their INTENT for those children to participate in the acts being taught.
Their sick and twisted minds don’t even understand what they are admitting!
Unbelievable, simply unbelievable. If we're getting the full story Gaines didn't do anything illegal by simply holding his child and a BB gun at the same time. Stupid yes, but not illegal. At least not yet, but it may soon be if the media-created national hysteria concerning guns continues. Let's just ban firearms today and BB guns tomorrow, and then all will be right with the world.
The US of today is no longer the nation I was born and raised in. Hitler, Stalin, Tojo, and Mussolini were in their heydays when I was born in 1937. Our "greatest generation" destroyed three of those tyrants and the evil systems they created, but now we have our own Hitler wannabe in the White House and a national government that if given the opportunity will gladly emulate those we destroyed in WWII at a terrible cost in lives and money. The scariest part of this radical change is that the majority of American voters seem quite willing to give that chance to our Hitler wannabe in the D.C. and to our government at every level.
Apparently the Cincinnati law enforcement and judicial systems are leading the way into our own Nazi government at the local level while our Fuhrer in the D.C. is working 24/7 to re-create it at the national level. May God help us, we no longer seem able to help ourselves.
Have you noticed how many people are dumb enough to post compromising photos of themselves on Facebook? I once saw a photo there of some moron proudly posing in his livingroom with half a dozen very nice firearms. And in the background behind him was a healthy marijuana plant growing in a pot. Needless to say, he got busted. And the cops took all his guns. Now he can never legally own another one. Dumbass.

Don't worry, you don't have much longer to wait. That day dawned 4 years ago and noonday is now close at hand. Just give the newest generation of voters one or two more election cycles and they will complete the transition from constitutional government to statist tyranny.
I may not sound like it, but I really do try to be optimistic about America's future and my kids' and grandkids' future lives in it, but it gets harder to do with every day that passes.
