9/11 knocked the Levy story off page one after a long-running episode that lasted the entire summer. It was years before they caught this creep. What are the hearings for? Condit must be passing kidney stones by now.

His lawyers said police and prosecutors made him a scapegoat for a botched investigation.

I specifcally recall that the perps DNA was found on the body and clothes of Ms. Chandra Levy. Was this left out of the trial for some reason?

Same guy killed Vince Foster. Not that it matters.

Guandique seems to be a career criminal and an illegal alien. But I thought a few years ago that he was being used as a scapegoat in the Levy case, and this seems to be what might be unfolding. And isn't it very convenient for the powers that be to have a scapegoat for a crime that more likely was committed by a high-ranking Democratic politician and his hired goon(s). It's called a cover-up.
Remember the Vince Foster "suicide"? The body of the deceased in that case was also found in a DC area park and the same US Park Police had the initial jurisdiction.
Should Guandique's conviction be reversed, that would push the Levy murder investigation back to square one. In that event, it's quite apparent where the focus of a renewed investigation should be.
