Republicans prepare for a comeback: We cant come off as a bunch of angry white men

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Republican National Committee members gathered here to re-elect Chairman Reince Priebus for a second term. But by week's end, that vote seemed secondary to the question of the party's long term survival.
After three months of denial, anger, despair and depression over the results of a bruising national election that gave Democrats an edge in Congress and kept President Barack Obama in the White House, Republicans know they must adapt if they are to move forward.
They acknowledge that it's time for a serious gut check. (Or as Haley Barbour put it in November, a "proctology exam.")
Whatever bodily metaphor you choose, the fact remains that the election so jolted and shocked the party that it is taking real steps to change.
And change they will! As soon as they figure out how.
While Republicans in Virginia and other battleground states launched an effort this week to alter electoral college rules so that votes are doled out proportionately--which would likely give the GOP at least a short term edge--GOP leaders here discussed their party's own shortcomings and sought areas of internal improvement.
Almost every conversation in the bar of the Charlotte Westin Hotel this week involved a discussion about what the party must do to win the next elections. Floating through the air is a desire to re-capture glorious days of the past, a challenge made difficult by a country that refuses to stand still. Demographics are changing, minorities are growing in political influence and views on social issues like gay marriage are drifting rapidly leftward. Something's got to give.

I'm out the door and have slammed it shut. I'm going to vote with the American Conservative Party from now out. I know, it's a wasted vote in some sense but at least I'll be voting everytime for people who share my values. Besides, I see no light in the tunnel; there is no hope for an electorate who would vote for O and his like.
“Well then use black and women Repubs to state your case,”
No, no, no. They have been trying that for years already, and everyone sees it as cynical window dressing.
Not to mention, it is the equivalent of intraparty affirmative action, meaning that we are stooping to tactics we condemn in others. Or do you think it is coincidence that any pretty much any minority elected to office in the GOP becomes nationally prominent in their very first term? (as long as they aren’t too conservative that is)
How bout’ a Rubio/Palin ticket!!!
Right on! Within two weeks of Bush’s election, the Dems had created the mantra “worst economy in 30 years”, and worked it into every public pronouncement for the next eight years. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t true, it just mattered that the public heard it repeated constantly.
Something like “Freedom hating liberals” might be one thought. Or maybe old Spiro’s “Pusillanimous pussyfooters”, “nattering nabobs of negativism”, or “effete corps of impudent snobs who characterize themselves as intellectuals”
One of the reasons for the tea party’s effectiveness was the use of the “stealing our children’s future” mantra.
They don’t want a strong conservative woman, or a minority. They want window dressing, while the GOPe fatcats remain the men behind the curtain. That’s why Sarah was unacceptable to them, but RINOs like Jindal and Rubio are promoted.
If this is what they're afraid of, if this is what occupies their thinking, then they've already lost.
Focus on principles and principles only.
Focusing on appearances plays right into the democrat/media complex hands. They will NEVER win this contest.
They're too busy rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
No “Angry White Men”, huh?
Then put Sarah Palin & Allen West in charge of things.
Hmmm, didn’t think that would interest you either, eGOP.
Bunch of wusses.
If what is being done to our Country & Constitution by the liberal/progressive/socialist cabal does not make you angry also, then you are either ignorant, apathetic or on their side.
If you are white, yellow, black, brown, tan or red; if you are man or woman, old or young and are angered by these things, then we stand together.
” Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,...
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day. “
You see here is that reverse discrimination again, it’s okay for the Blacks to be angry , it’s okay for the Hispanics to be angry( by the way I hate that word, how many people from the island of Hispaniola actually live here?) it’s okay for the Asians to be angry. It’s also okay for all these groups to have pride weeks, but God help us all if a White person is angry or dares to have pride in their achievements because that just racist!
Screw Rubio, he’s fighting for the other team.
Starting with that quote means that the Republicans have learned nothing and will continue to fail as a real opposition party. but then they have ceased to exist as politically independent entity, anyway. The republican Party now is the Official Opposition wing of the Ruling Democrat Party and, at the appropriate time, will provide the first defendants for the Great Show Trials of Racists(the current term for what were once known as Enemies of the State or Wreckers).
Well, the reason I haven’t been 100% out-the-door was solely through supporting and voting for Ted Cruz last year. That was the ONLY reason I even bothered with the election.
Otherwise, the combined situation of the GOP convention not even allowing the words “tea party” be uttered, and the blatant “get lost” message conveyed towards Palin... that was the final straw. The GOP directly spit in my face with those actions. Bastards. I’ve lost every tiny remaining bit of faith, trust and respect I once carried for them, forged back in the days of Reagan.
No they didnt and the result proves that.
Unless you want to talk about fraud then you have to accept the fact, we lost.
“I do not fear an army of lions, if they are led by a lamb. I do fear an army of sheep, if they are led by a lion.” - Alexander the Great
Mobilisation Order by Emperor Haile Selassie - Abyssinia 1936
’ Everyone will now be mobilised and all boys old enough to carry a spear will be sent to Addis Ababa ‘
’ Married men will take their wives to carry food and to cook. Those without wives will take a woman without a husband. Woman with small babies need not go ‘
’ The blind, those who cannot walk, or for any reason cannot carry a spear, are exempted.’
’ Any one found at home after receipt of this order will be hanged.’
Chris Moody of Yahoo News has been selected to fire the perhaps the first of many rounds from Yahoo News aimed at demonizing of what is any conservative element in the Republican party.
The conservative response should be
DEMOCRATS
GOD DENIERS AND CONGENITAL LIARS
WANT FIRST YOUR MONEY
AND THEN YOUR GUNS
Millions of us “angry old white guys” stayed home last November and did not vote for the liberal-lite Romney. That is why he lost.
Nope, but I could go for a Palin/Palin ticket. Rubio is not eligible, unless you want to ignore the Constitution like the progressive dimms do.
