State Police: All 26 Newtown victims shot with assault rifle
Connecticut Post ^ | January 24, 2013 | Neil Vigdor

Posted on 01/25/2013 10:11:08 AM PST by Uncle Chip

Lt. J. Paul Vance, the face of an ongoing Connecticut State Police investigation into worst grade-school shooting in U.S. history, Thursday debunked media and Internet reports that Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza killed his victims with handguns and not the Bushmaster XM-15 E2S rifle that is now the focus of a proposed federal assault-weapons ban.

All 26 of Lanza's victims were shot with the .223-caliber semi-automatic rifle, said Vance, who bristled at claims to the contrary during an interview with Hearst Connecticut Newspapers.

"It's all these conspiracy theorists that are trying to mucky up the waters," said Vance, the longtime state police spokesman. Multiple Second Amendment and gun owner websites have attempted to cast doubts on whether the Bushmaster XM-15, a type of AR-15 rifle that is currently legal, was used in the Dec. 14 carnage done by Lanza.

Some have cited a Dec. 15 "Today" show video clip from the day after the shooting, in which NBC News Justice Department correspondent Pete Williams said that four handguns were recovered inside Sandy Hook Elementary School and that the Bushmaster rifle was found in the trunk of a car owned by Lanza's slain mother, Nancy Lanza.

"There's no doubt that the rifle was used solely to kill 26 people in that school," Vance said.

Twenty children ages 7 and under and six female educators were killed when Lanza forced his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School and sprayed the occupants with bullets before turning a gun on himself.

Vance said he made it abundantly clear during his media briefings since the tragedy that Lanza carried out the shooting with the Bushmaster.

"I personally articulated that probably a dozen times in Newtown," Vance said.

“Some fool once said, “The earth is round!” People shot down that conclusion without even looking at the supporting premises.

Gosh — who should we believe???

A woman was shot but crawled away somehow and went behind “a door.” She lived.

Then there’s the story of the little girl covered in blood and the children who were able to run out.

Remember, “the police were closing in” when it ended. What they actually saw or where they were has not been described.

After Aurora, the sources of information have been secured. Families were each guarded by law enforcement, for their privacy.

Ultimately, you will hear the agenda. Those who question the narrative of the agenda will be shouted down, made to look the fool or removed from the equation altogether. Even here.

Sandy Hook School Principal Dawn Hochsprung told The Bee that a masked man entered the school with a rifle and started shooting multiple shots - more than she could count - that went “on and on.”

Either she had not yet learned that she was dead or some flake called the Bee WITH THE EXACT NARRATIVE THAT STANDS TODAY!

Verified that .223 rounds, were taken from the victims, match the rounds taken from the victims matched the “AR-15” barrel and that it was the murder weapon, the city/county coroners/ballistics report is reviewed and verified by the state ME/Ballistics analyst. Trust but Verify!!!

What's the point? After undergoing a time-consuming, expensive and totally unnecessary "double examination" the Sandy Hook Truthers still wouldn't buy that an AR-15 was used.

He could just about empty one 10-round mag and then pop in another in seconds while having the other handgun ready in case someone tried to jump him. When the tactical claims are bogus, you know there is another agenda here.

Exactly how, if he holds the reloading weapon in one hand and the new magazine in the other? He MIGHT hold both the magazine and the second weapon at once, but he could not easily use it for defense if he was. (Tried it here in my living room, with no stress or rush. Wasn't easy, and certainly led to moments where I couldn't defend myself easily for a moment or two.)

He could have the second, operational weapon in his belt while he reloaded. If someone tried to jump him, he could drop the weapon in his hand and grab the other one out of his belt.

And, once again, we are talking about a room full of elementary school children. Kill the teacher first and the children are just lambs to be slaughtered.

People like Bloomberg would NEVER insist that New York's Tiffany Jewelry store do without armed guards. Bloomberg buys stuff at Tiffany's - he knows gold and jewels are valuable.

But Bloomberg doesn't have armed guards at the schools - and he doesn't want fathers to be able to protect their families .. no, Bloomberg doesn't think fathers should be armed BECAUSE our children aren't as important as gold and jewels.

From David Mamet:

Walk down Madison Avenue in New York. Many posh stores have, on view, or behind a two-way mirror, an armed guard. Walk into most any pawnshop, jewelry story, currency exchange, gold store in the country, and there will be an armed guard nearby. Why? As currency, jewelry, gold are precious. Who complains about the presence of these armed guards? And is this wealth more precious than our children?

Apparently it is: for the Left adduces arguments against armed presence in the school but not in the wristwatch stores. Q. How many accidental shootings occurred last year in jewelry stores, or on any premises with armed security guards?

Why not then, for the love of God, have an armed presence in the schools?

NBC and the MSM don't EVER make 'mistakes' that hurt dems or the gun control lobby. Their 'mistakes' hurt our side - only. Like a store that only overcharges...

Most modern day newspapers have armed guards protecting their people. They feel their employees are valuable. Same with politicians like Bloomberg and Obama.

Bloomberg would NEVER insist that New York's Tiffany Jewelry store do without armed guards. Bloomberg buys stuff at Tiffany's - he knows gold and jewels are valuable. Obama's given himself and his family lifetime armed guards because he thinks he's valuable. Fine. But so are we - the ordinary everyday citizens.

Bloomberg and Obams don't want fathers to be able to protect their families - or mothers and teachers. Bloomberg and Obama don't think fathers should be armed BECAUSE our children aren't as important...

My conspiracy theory is that in some dank, dark office in one of the federal buildings, teams of government workers are cataloging all the posts from people posting conspiracy theories and tracking down the names and addresses of the people posting such lunacy. The feral gubmint plans to use that information as proof of mental illness thereby having cause to ban those people from owning firearms.

Why be so snarky?

Personally, I doubt the guy in the woods had anything to do with the shootings, but the questions of who he is and why he was there are legitimate ones. The police certainly thought so because they ran him to ground, cuffed him, and out him in a police car.

Since conspiracy theorists are destroying conservatism and freerepublic, no.

Everything has to be a conspiracy, and the shoddiest of information is brought forward to support it. Some idiot goes postal and shoots children? There’s a conspiracy behind it.

Never mind that it happens pretty regularly in a country with high firearms ownership, 310 million citizens, more than a few disturbed nutjobs, and wall-to-wall 24-hour network coverage and attention for weeks whenever it does.

It’s good - there is a broken window. When it was broken and by whom is what we don’t yet know.

The actual time of that 0:50 Scanner pickup on that tape will be a clue. It sounds like a first responder.

And if that window was blown out by gunfire, the shell casings should have been right there.

And if it was blown out by gunfire, then it was the intruder who did it, since the chief said that no shots were fired by the police that morning.

I agree. It is getting really frustrating. This site shouldn’t be conspiracy theorist central.

Seems to me it started with the unrestrained birtherism. I think that led to FR becoming a magnet for conspiracy theorists.
