I wouldn’t let the sonsabitches on my range either, if that is their attitude

The Police Chief's job depends on this same group who passed this ordinance, he has to play politics in every facet of his life. But I would like to know how the rank and file police officers feel about this.

Good for the firing range; sticking to their principles over profit.

Wahhhh, he works for the public. Either he supports the ban or he doesn’t. Time to choose which side you are on.

I have been a police chief. The Chief needs to stand with the community and with the constitution. If he is afraid for his job, then he shouldn’t be in the job in the first place.
Chiefs are generally at will employees. Granted that after a time there becomes a property interest right but that is for another discussion.

The single advice I give to Chiefs is to always do the right thing. To always be preparted that today is your last day on the job but leave having made the right decision.
