MOUNT CARMEL, Pa. — A 5-year-old Pennsylvania girl who told another girl she was going to shoot her with a pink toy gun that blows soapy bubbles has been suspended from kindergarten.

Her family has hired an attorney to fight the punishment, which initially was 10 days but was reduced to two.

Einstein is attributed to have said, “The difference between genius and stupidity is; genius has its limits.”

Not sure anything can be done to shut down these stupid policies...

Random thoughts—

—They’ll nail her for bullying.

—All your bubble belong to us.

—She may not be found competent to stand trial, as surely, she had no idea of the extensive bodily harm that can be caused by a bubble. I believe this may have been a high capacity bubble-gun, which will no doubt result in greater charges brought. Further, there may be an extra green penalty, as soap, not properly handled can also negatively impact our environment.

I sure hope I don’t need the /sarc tag for that last paragraph.

The area in and around Mt. Carmel is Republican and conservative. I would bet 80% of the households are gun owners. It just shows how far out of touch and liberal our school systems have become. This girl couldn’t have been suspended without the approval of the school board. It looks like they need a house-cleaning in the next election.

Physiactic evaluation? Suspension? “Terroist? A 5 year kid talking about a bubble gun? Good grief! I know that “zero tollerance” is the “IN” thing nowadays but, who the hell is the 5 year old, the kid or those who are condemming her?

If this crap was being promoted and authorized when I was a kid, VERY FEW males in this country would NOT be in jail.

Yep! Common as flashlights, I wasn't kidding. You can shoot in the woods a minute from town, and not be bothered. Gun clubs not as close together as churches, but maybe someday ;)

In fact I have an old photo of a gun club sign, right across the street from one of the local elementary schools -- don't know if it's still in operation.

But the school personnel, many of whom I know personally, are not endowed with high wattage, and despite job security they are a very timid lot. The adherence to idiotic rules is not exclusively a liberal shortcoming.

Not sure what causes it, it can't be that they are vassals to the govt. Police hereabouts (whom I also know well) are more intelligent and sensible. Every last one of them. Ditto the folks at the city halls, sewer authority, courts.

But in the schools, well, I think it is just something in the nature of the beastly system.

Ban the bubble gum gun and soap bubble ammo too.

Honestly, these people look like such idiots. If they only had a clue what people think of them.

Local paper has a photo of the weapon, a Hello Kitty assault bubble gun.

As for Guns and Ammo, there are so many firearms magazines in the stacks at Walmart (next town over from Mt. C), you can not find it easily and when you do it is pre-loved. They have a G&A handgun annual out now, too. There may have been a centerfold but not by the time I got to it.

In the late 70’s my brother brought a shot gun to school for a class. Called the principal for permission and no problem. Actually, when the principal seen the gun he wanted to buy it. It was the same gun his grandfather used to have and he used as a little boy on this grandfathers farm. When my dad was in school, in the 20’s, they had a shooting range at the school. Very sad how attitudes have changed over the decades towards guns. Emotional paranoia has over taken common sense.

PS: If you’re inclined to visit the store, ammo is plentiful. Buy a 2013 calendar while you’re at it, there’s one of Pickup Trucks, or if you prefer, there’s Outhouses.

Serious.

It is indeed. See photo at my link in post 30. The weapon is packaged with Spanish subtitles, clearly implicating the Mexican mafia, and it depicts Hello Kitty, the most notorious macrocephalic seducer of youth since Betty Boop.

Mt. Carmel is completely blue. As is Mt. Carmel Twp. The surrounding area is red. I graduated with the superintendent. I used to go out with the guidance counselor. They are do as I say-not as I do. They should sue the individuals involved and not the school district (taxpayers). I’ll bet they are back-pedaling now.
