The White House on Wednesday blasted a web ad released by the National Rifle Association using President Barack Obamas daughters to criticize the president on gun control as repugnant and cowardly."
The NRA released the ad Tuesday, a day before Obama announced a package of proposals aimed at curbing gun violence in the wake of a mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., last month.
In strikingly personal terms, the ad calls Obama an "elitist hypocrite" for allowing Secret Service protection for daughters even as he calls for tighter gun laws.
"Why is [Obama] skeptical about putting armed security in schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their school?" the ad asks.
As the president's children, Malia and Sasha Obama are entitled to Secret Service protection. Obama has never said he opposes more armed security guards at school, which the NRA recommended in the wake of the Newtown massacre. But the president has said such a step is not sufficient in curbing gun danger.

I am sure Sidwell has always had armed security around the school, even when a POTUS child is not enrolled. There are a lot of very wealthy elite future liberals getting their education. Additionally, most private schools allow personal armed body guards paid for by parents who feel their children could be ransom targets etc.
Has anyone ever actually heard the White House talk?
“Is it just my age (56), or is that red dress inappropriate for the age of the child and the occasion?”
It’s your age. At least it’s not thigh-high, not slit, and no cleavage is showing (also longing for times and people that were better /sarc).
Nice diversity photo-op; do the honkies’ parents know what Obama thinks of their kids?
They should use this and any other they can find!
Chris Stevens and his people were not armed, remember? http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2012/12/10/Benghazi-Source-Unarmed
Unarmed. In Benghazi. Well, not Smith and Doherty.
Oh, and arming narcoterrorists in Mexico with who knows what....forcing US gun shopowners to sell weapons to their runners. Worked for Brian Terry, no? Wasn’t the actual bullet supply fake/plugs, not bullets?
Going on 2,000,000,000 HOLLOW POINT bullets bought up by the feds. Those are only for killing—people.
Talk about pawns.
Spose they’ll be called gulags here?
A “second day” ad from NRA including promenent people with children under armed guard would knock the issue outta the park.
Who are these “special class” of people ?
Name the families who have children guarded (unlike the average kids in Newtown.) Why didn’t Newtown kids get the same protection as kids in the “beltway” ?
NRA should see this and pounce.
Remember. Not everyone is NRA...
So? I’m not and I am 110% pro gun. I am also 110% against repeating the same soft pedaling crap that leads to PC compromise.
Lots of us unaffiliated types are not wilting blossoms. And when the NRA stops endorsing libs, I may one day sign up. Once they prove they are worth the money.
Sorry, I am not wearing long pants and dressing up on an airplane to sweat my ass off. Not that I dress like the beach or anything. But short pants shoes and a nice shirt are appropriate in my opinion.
This is South Florida. I hate sweating.
It was too close to the truth and this administration thrives on illusions.
The NRA didn’t even name or show picture of Obama’s daughters - Obama had actual live kids on the stage as part of his dog and pony show - who’s doing the exploiting.....
Even funerals.
Exactly! Perfect points.
Turn their own class warfare game around on them. Like it!
The NRA hit a nerve. More straight talk is called for - trying to be polite gets us nothing but disdain from them.
