Thanks for that information. I'm an engineer with about 12 years of experience and looking for a PMP certification. I've been thinking of it for 4 years now, and wondering if its worth it. I've not had problems finding jobs without such a certification and I already work as a portfolio manager.
I still wonder if its worth it

It’s worth it to break into being a PM but you won’t learn much. It is a very liberal style organization, the PMI.
