Whoops! Yer all felons, NY gun owners!
I seriously doubt it was an accident.
They had to pass it in order to find out what is in it.
They had to pass it in order to find out what is in it.
Sure looks that way to me. Perhaps it was no accident.
Line 11 has the and. Looks like mandatory registration of all guns to me. Glad I live in Arizona...

LOL!
Dumbasses.
Sure. Accidentally on purpose likely.
What most dont understand about NY gun laws is: normal rifles and shotguns are not firearms.
I kid you not.
Firearms in NY are whatever is defined as regulated and restricted or banned, to wit handguns, assault weapons, short barreled rifles/shotguns, and machineguns.
So: no, they didn’t. Welcome to legalese - words don’t mean what you think they do.
Do I smell a court challenge?
There’s an “and” clause there at the end that I think applies to both A and B. My interpretation is that it makes it illegal to own a firearm AND not register it per the law.
Which is bad enough as it is. Where’s the vaunted inferred Constitutional right to privacy??
How can this even be? Was the 2nd amendment overturned by 2/3rds of the states?
Wouldn’t this automatically be struck down as unconstitutional then? Not that “that little book” matters to the new Gestapo.
Progressive jackasses who hate our constitution never do anything by accident..so now every law abiding gun owner in New York are criminals
Damn.
My condolences, New York. Now, we’ll see a massive exodus of people, I bet.
There is no reason for registration except to prepare for confiscation.
Good. Incremental steps are bad; bring it on. Maybe the frogs will feel the heat and jump out of the pot.
"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

This is an interesting lesson to computer programmers on why it’s good to use parentheses liberally within logical statements to remove ambiguity regarding operator precedence and order of evaluation.
Of interest to you and your bang list.
