Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman threatened Monday afternoon that he would file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he institutes gun control measures with an executive order.
Stockman warned that such executive orders would be unconstitutional and infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.
I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment, Stockman said in a statement.

Thank you, Texans, for sending a man to Congress with enough intestinal fortitude to talk back.

Thank you, Texans, for sending a man to Congress with enough intestinal fortitude to talk back, which is considerably more than any other Republican has done thus far.

More Republicans with spines? How to find out? Easy. They can join the effort or be replaced in the next election. Do they really want chaos, intensified hysteria, more tanked markets, TEOTWAWKI, the end of the world and all of that? America as even more of a third world nation? Repudiation of debt? Do their most favored, few constituents of the radical social left want all of that? Call their big bluff.

President does not have the power to make laws unilaterally. “Executive Orders” are for organizing the executive branch of government, they do not apply to anyone else.
These leftists want a dictatorship

That is the best explanation I have seen yet. I always hear that EO can only apply to existing law - he cannot make new laws on his own - but I really understand that part about EO's only applying to a branch of the Government.

Well said. I will add that we should give 'em one. Just remember that it's not the "47%" or ethnic groups behind the attacks on constitutional freedoms. It's the so-called progressives, and most of them are rolling in dough and influence from government debt and sweetheart deals. They're guilty as sin and reacting from hysteria by goading their pocket politicians.
We need to cut government to something petite and pretty that issues the demurring purrs of a pussycat instead of the demanding shrieks of a bloated harridan. We need to cut spending for it from the regulatory top, down, starting with federal funding to local government regulatory/anti-family offices. After that, go ahead. Put the rabble to work.

So there is one Republican with a spine. Naturally, he’s from Texas.
I pity the fools that would try to take guns away from Texans.
To: Cheerio
Good for him. But impeachment won’t fly and it won’t deter him as we learned in ‘98, not with all the rats and rinos in Congress willing to turn a blind eye no matter how high his crimes and misdemeanors.
No, if you want to put the fear of God in them, and him, (and it’s obvious to me that that is going to become a necessity eventually, if we want to save our country from these Stalinist jackals), you must threaten to call out the militia and literally go to war with the traitorous sons of b******.
To: Cheerio
Good luck. No chance in hell in the senate.
But it could provide some great entertainment. Watching liberal heads explode is always fun.

If the constitution is the highest law in the land, then how can any president think that he has the power to override it?
Isn’t this an example of NOT protecting the Constitution and therefore grounds for impeachment and conviction

If anyone trespasses upon our God-given rights, he trespasses upon us. It is a crime that for which the trespasser will be prosecuted and duly punished.

More than just entertainment. I want Zero to go down in the history books as only three Presidents who have been IMPEACHED. To-date only in America's history, only two presidents have been impeached: Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton.
I have libtard acquaintances that still claim Bubba Klintoon was NOT impeached, since he was not removed from office. But what the hey - Libtards are no defenders of FACTS.
