Tony Zerilli, alleged to be the underboss of Detroit's biggest crime family, is breaking his silence on one of the greatest unsolved crimes in American history
A man who federal agents say is a main character in the infamous unsolved mystery about the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa is breaking his silence after decades of refusing to answer questions.
The reputed gangster says the union leader was buried in a field in suburban Detroit -- about 20 miles north of the restaurant where he was last seen.
Eighty-five years old and barely able to walk, Tony Zerilli never thought this day would come.
Im dead broke. I got no money, Zerilli told NBC 4 New York. My quality of life is zero.
Its certainly not what you would expect to hear from a man who the feds say was once a high-ranking member of the Detroit La Cosa Nostra family.
He actually had risen up at one point to the underboss or second in command, Andy Arena, former head of the FBI for New York and Detroit, said of Zerilli.

For his part, Zerilli wants closure for himself and Hoffas family.
Id like to just prove to everybody that Im not crazy," Zerilli said. "And it means a lot to me. What happened, happened while I was in jail. And I feel very, very bad about it and it should never have happened to Jim Hoffa. He didnt deserve what happened to him.
Zerilli also wants a payday. He's working on a book and has a web site, hoffafound.com. He believes that he can make money if -- and when -- Hoffas body is found in that field. Hes waiting on the FBI to make the next move.

Does Geraldo know about this?
If true, about an hour after this guy opened his mouth, Hoffa was dug up and buried a long way from there.
If its this Tony Zirelli, seems like he might be fibbing about his mob ties.

I grew up on Kensington Rd. in Milford, just south of the GM proving grounds.
We always heard he was put in the ground around there, I always kind of hoped he was.
Reminds me of that scene in “Goodfellows” where they have to go upstate to take care of that “thing”.
The “thing” was the made man that they killed in the bar and then buried upstate. They had to go move him after he had been in the ground for six months because they were going to build on that property and the heat was on.
I love that movie.
So his body isn’t encased in a concrete pillar holding up some New York Sports Stadium? Oh well. My theory is the mob put out 50 stories to see who talked - then killed the talkers. It’s a charming bunch...
Exactly my feelings! Who cares!
Um, well, uh . . .
one group of thugs erased the leader of another group of thugs. why sweat this for so long? you live and act like a thug, you probably will die like a thug.
I think Tony has more credibility than Geraldo..........
Omerta.
Quite likely but who cares? Zerilli was in prison when Hoffa disappeared and any info he may have received as to how he died or where he was buried was second hand.
With that being said, 38 years ago, that field that Hoffa was allegedly buried in that is 20 miles north of the then Machus Red Fox on Telegraph is likely either a half million dollar per house subdivision or a shopping mall.......
Thailand?
Someone should call this mealy mouth SOB to make good on his BS claim.
Hoffa was a.k.a. D.B. Cooper...
Thanks Zakeet.
Some of Hoffa’s last known words were, “I’m going to meet Tony Pro.”

The Teamsters strongly opposed a trade deal with Colombia through lobbying and street protests, and were credited with helping to prevent a similar trade deal with Panama. Under his leadership, the Teamsters ended a federal program in 2009 that allowed Mexican truckers to haul goods beyond the border zone in the United States. Hoffa predicted the failure of a second version of the program in October 2011, and challenged it in federal court. [/snip]
well put.
I think we all know that answer.
