Heh. Unlikely, since I'm white and wasn't old enough to drive back then. (we did have a class trip to DC back in 1994 though)

I'll give you one better. My dad met Colin Powell wayyy back in 1969, when they were both stationed in Vietnam. Apparently they interacted for about 3 days together on some base, and my dad tells me that nobody thought much of it at the time since Powell was an unknown army major back then. I asked him what he thought of Powell, and he told me "Not Much." I get the impression it wasn't a positive experience.
