Congress is a DEAD END for the gun-grabbers. They simply don’t have nearly the Dem numbers that they had in 1994, and at least of the Dems are right now quivering in their boots, fearing to even have to vote on it.

The surest evidence of that was the Executive Order garbage coming out of Biden last week. That convinced me that their hopes in Congress had died.

But ALWAYS stay vigilant!!! You never know for sure while the issue is still be discussed.

I hope this is correct, but I wouldn’t put much faith in either McLame or Manchin.

The ONLY reason that the Dems (including Obama) have achieved as much power as they have is because they, intentionally, conceded the gun issue (without saying so, of course). They know they will GET CLOBBERED (figure of speech) if they have to follow Obama and Biden on this.

It was obvious that this was the strategy when, during 2009/2010, when they owned everything, they punted on gun control. In fact, the only significant gun legislation from them, back then, was the National Parks bill, which was an excellent piece of legislation.

There are likely 10,000,000 (at least) Democrat voters today that will jump to the Republican side if they see their gun rights going away - the Dems know this, and will NEVER support gun control in Congress. They can get away with big words, but once they get into the registration (or defacto registration), of confiscation, they will no longer be a major political party.

And Romney had the election in the bag after Benghazi. Keep up the pressure or the GOP will cave.

Ever notice how the NRA is always referred to as a “powerful lobby” by the left? Why do they never refer to the teachers’ unions or the trial lawyers’ lobbies as being powerful?

This is probably why they are now talking about immigration. They’ll probably try to sneak something through as a rider.

Why does the right continue to allow the left to define the term "assault weapon" as if the left has full control of the debate.

None of my weapons would be used for assault, but might need to be used against a foe with good equipment. I prefer that I still, and forevermore, be allowed to match any opponent as I define it, not as the left defines it. I call it a "balanced approach", and "pro choice" as to the methods needed to defend myself.

Well, if Congress is not going to pass a control bill, how does the President (and media) walk this item back without political loss?

Seems to me Mr 0bama has spent a lot of political capital on this cause, already.

The Republicans will hold strong. What I fear is Obama’s issue of an Executive Order.

And on Tuesday Vice President Joe Biden is expected to give Obama a comprehensive package of recommendations for curbing gun violence.

One suspects uber deceit here, and one further suspects that Mister Biden received the essential framework of said "comprehensive package" from Mister Obama (and his "advisers") many weeks ago.

The Dem’s tried to rush this issue to see if they could capitalize on the anguish of the moment. They wanted to push for more reduction of freedom than they have ever pushed for before. Each passing minute reduced the Dem’s power and they knew it—they are likely to get much less than they had dreamed. But, if they wait till 2014, the situation in Congress could shift to their advantage.

However, they have already achieved a lot. They quickly put the NRA in the spotlight acting as if the crime had some sort of relationship to the entirely innocent NRA, and making attacks on the NRA that couldn’t have been worse if the killer was an NRA member following NRA recommendations. They shifted attention away from the causes and prevention of the evil crime to an intense attack on their political opponents, especially the powerful NRA and the large portion of American society that owns guns. They motivated local and state politicians to tout and pursue radical anti-freedom legislation and policies.

Americans are being offered nothing but a diminution of freedom in this current effort. It takes a lot of chicanery to pull that wool over American eyes.

The elections of 2014 will be important to American’s remaining and waning freedoms. Unfortunately, opposition to Dem candidates has been severely weakened in recent weeks. Organized political action must take place now and must be forceful if even greater disaster is to be avoided in 2014.
These Dem’s are a great danger to freedom and hope for future Americans. Their threat must be realized and must not be underestimated.

DITTO. Made two strategic gambles on guns. Figured Romney will win, but he lost, gun prices went up and after Newtown semi are all sold out. Now hoping gun law will not pass and get relief on shortage and prices. I think Obama will use EO to limit mag size and mandatory background check for all gun sales. But all gunowners should not let this incident pass and use it to throw all Dems out of the Senate in 2014. When Dems take a hit at the election, it forces them to rethink gun control as an issue like 1994. It is time again to teach them a lesson again! WV are you listening??!!!! GOP do not counter act the effects of gunowner anger (which inludes blue collar Dems) with pro globalist, free trade, more foreign wars, Wall Street are angels BS. Main Street will deal with those unAmerican BS another time, in the short run we want to deal with the Dems on gun control.
