The real agenda behind antibullying campaign
Mpls Star Tribune ^ | 1/12/13 | Katherine Kersten

Posted on 01/12/2013 4:38:21 PM PST by rhema

Who -- in the sensitive, civilized Minnesota of 2013 -- could possibly be in favor of bullying? If you were short or fat in sixth grade, you may have cringed from bullies yourself. If your kids have endured bullying, you've suffered through it with them. No child should have to put up with bullying. So how could a decent person oppose a campaign at our State Capitol to prevent it?

But what if the antibullying campaign now unfolding there has little to do with protecting the traditional targets of bullies: kids who are pudgy, shy or "vertically challenged"? What if it's driven instead by a political/cultural agenda that's not so much about stopping bad behavior as it is about using the machinery of state education to compel children to adopt politically correct attitudes on "the nature of human sexuality," "gender identity" and alternative family structures?

What if a new antibullying law would require private religious schools -- along with public schools -- to enforce this agenda, so families who don't want to subject their kids to indoctrination in state-approved views of sexuality have no educational refuge?

In the 2013 legislative session, you'll hear lots of warm, fuzzy language from lawmakers and public officials about protecting "all kids" from bullying. You'll read about hearings designed to break every legislator's heart with tearful stories about bullying.

But every Minnesotan with a child in public or private school should understand that there's more going on here than meets the eye.

It was the title of the story at the link I posted. Did you bother to click on the link? If you had, you would have seen the title was exactly what I posted.

Maybe you didn’t know this as you are new to FR but I am under no obligation to click on a link just because you posted it.

Hope that clears it up for you.

you advocated respect

Of course. I am Catholic. If you have a question about respect, I will try to answer. If you want to make flamebait posts about the Holy Inquisition, find a relevant thread; on this thread I will ignore it as I ignore all Protestant trolling.

I have been on FR for 8 or 9 years, hardly a newbie. And if you are gonna say stupid crap, the least you could do is figure out what a post actually says.

Have a nice evening.

If you don't know how to post on FR maybe you should shut up and go study in the HTML sandbox.

Since you probably don't know how to find it:

Well, now you’ve hurt my feelings. Believe it or not, I have done just fine on FR without your help.

People like you ruin FR.

Don’t make generalizations about fellow FReepers children in the future.

Also understand that everyone doesn’t click every link posted as is our prerogative.

Are you not understanding that I didn’t make any generalizations???? I didn’t write the article! Why is that so hard for you to comprehend? I guess it’s your prerogative not to think, either.

YOU didn’t italicize the quote per FR standard which by default makes it YOUR words.

I just can’t make it any more simple than that.

I take it from your attitude YOU are never at fault. A guy at work had the same problem. I fired him because of it last week as it is irritating. He tried to explain that it wasn’t his fault. I laughed as he boxed his crap up and left.

You might think so since you have the same failure mindset that he has but you would be wrong.

The rest of the staff aren’t following Obama’s lead and placing blame on everyone else for their mistakes so I treat them very well.

I have no respect for childish acts and attitudes from humans that are only adults chronologically.

Look, I understand that you are far too immature to admit that your half-assed original post started this conversation so do me a favor.

Keep responding but rather than direct the posts to me try to find someone who gives a damn about your childish shortcomings.

DU might be a better fit for you as it is populated with angry mentally retarded and underdeveloped people who think on a nine year old level as you do.

There is a difference between name-calling and pinpointing your shortcomings. I can only assume you don’t have any friends or one of them would have pointed them out to you already.

I simply do it as a public service.

My son was bullied by a girl...she kicked him every day. He would tell the teacher (he is disabled with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lymes disease) and the teacher would blow it off saying “she just has a crush on you”. I finally called the principal and counselor and said if it was not taken care of within the school system, I would tell me son to either kick her back or knock her out, which ever was easier. I tought my son that it is not proper to hit a girl, I recently added “unless she started it”. The principal and counselor took care of it...and this year he is very popular with the girls especially and with many of the boys. He has many friends and I am so glad he is not a victim to bullies again.

I was beaten by a bully that was so big she often put people in the hospital and some ended up being a vegetable when I was in highschool. Thankfully, I had my books that I could put in front of my face as protection and a few people in her circle actually liked me and got her to stop soon after it started.
