It wouldn’t hurt to go to the control panel and either to ‘add remove programs’ in XP or in Windows 7 it is ‘programs and features’ and after the list comes up ‘uninstall’ or ‘remove’ anything java related. Apparently from what I’m reading it is a genuine threat for now until Oracle/Java announces a fix. I am.

I had trouble removing Java because I got asked questions during the uninstall, requiring a Yes or No answer.
My instinct was to answer No - but only by answering Yes was I able to finally delete it. - tom
