He’s lucky he wasn’t shot for being ID’d as a vicious canine.

The police department must be very proud to have incarcerated such a dangerous big-time criminal! Bravo!! (Our tax money at work!)

Did the dog write up the police report? Did the news reporter interview the dog?

Sounds like a First Amendment case that could tie up the entire Federal court system for the next thirteen years...

Very misleading headline. Also, he was hitting the window of the police car. Clearly trying to distract the dog and keep it away from his car.

I don’t like this random traffic-stop business, but the arrest was justified.

Where have I heard this before?

Dog Barks at Man - not news. Man Barks at Dog - News!

Perhaps he was just trying to explain to the dog that the car was a rental car and thus, the drugs that the dog smelled really weren’t his.

It doesn’t look like a random traffic stop to me. In an oridnary speeding, etc. case the officer just pulls the driver over and leaves the driver in his car whikle preparing the citation. It’s also very rare for a second unit to be called in for an ordinary stop. Looks like this guy was doing a bit more than just violating traffic laws.

Did the news reporter interview the dog?

Don't the news media learn early on to stay away from the drug sniffing dogs?

Random stop is unconstitutional, but the article doesn't say it was random, just a traffic stop.
I take that to mean they had probable cause - speeding, bad tail light, etc.

I agree, although I posted the headline directly from the article.

Oinking at a cop is protected free speech as I recall, so woofing at the dog shouldn’t require 13 years of court time. Maybe just 7 or 8.
