I have a problem with the felons one. If they did their time, they should be given a second chance on guns. If they are multple-felon, then maybe deny.
Right now we have to be smart about this. Fighting for felons and mentally ill people to own guns to me looks awful, regardless of the principals behind it and will be used to make a mockery of us.

I dont have a problem denying guns to felons even if they did their time. I have a problem with denying guns to guys who are going through a divorce and whose wives put out an order of protection against them for spite. It happened to a friend of mine even though no accusation of violence was ever made. It happens all the time.
