Clearly, the vast numbers of citizens who have bought new firearms in the past month, especially the hundreds of thousands of expensive semi-auto rifles, did not buy these new firearms simply so they’d have them available to surrender if Congress should pass a law demanding they do so.

I won’t comply either. I reserve the authority to defend and protect my life and those I love from any aggression or aggressor who means to intimdate me into complying with their demand or whoever intends on injuring or killing anyone.

I will not be disarmed and made venerable, that is “defenseless”.

Most of us hard working folks cannot afford the time off work and the cost of the fight, but I have longed for someone with the means and temperament to be arrested for open carry and take it all the way to SCOTUS. No where in the 2nd does it say anything about concealed permits and other such nonsense and restrictions, but we have tolerated it in fear of the fight to SCOTUS not turning out our way. Actually now and with the next SCOTUS appointment that fear rings true.

Just like when Wyatt Earp and others posted their towns as no-gun zones, that was against the law but some people think he was justified.

Couldn’t an enterprising Governor of a state just set up a procedure whereby any citizen of the state with no criminal record or mental health issues to be sworn in as a member of the state militia and order them to own an assault weapon as a condition of membership in good standing? Kind of a Switzerland approach.

That would seem to fall directly under the plain language of the 2nd Amendment.

I think the 2nd Amendment is broad enough as it is but the gun grabbers are going to try everything they can.

So lets combine the 2nd and 10th Amendment and make it a states right issue.

I don't understand, or respect, Montanan's. They continue to elect a not-even-moderate Democrat Governor and Senators and then claim to be a conservative state. Please!

I suspect that Montana and everyone else will fall in line and do as they are told. There's a lot of chest thumping coming from conservatives regarding new gun control laws, but in the end that is all it is. Conservatives are good at drawing a line in the sand, daring liberals to step over it, and the stepping back another five feet and drawing another line after the libs do step over the first. This has been going on for decades and I don't see any reason it will stop now.

What we're probably looking at is a ban on magazines which can carry more than 10 rounds and maybe even an all out assault weapons ban. Those who are threatening war over gun confiscation will not feel threatened enough by the new laws to doing anything and the water will continue to boil, but at least they can feel like patriots for coming on the internet and typing bravely.
