Funny how A+M finally found a conference it could win. Didn’t you miss the Florida game where they lost to Syracuse?

I’m pretty sure the Miami media hates Nick Saban because he coach rather poorly, seemingly incapable of recognizing anybody outside the SEC was even available to be drafted. After dismantling and abusing a relatively solid team and limping to a 15-17 record, the team that Saban helped put together wound up 7-25 after two years.

He’s a great recruiter and does a wonderful job running a professional team masquerading as an NCAA football team, but he couldn’t hack it in the pros.

Sabin follows the late Great Bear Bryant at AL, but there are other coaches who have achieved sustained greatness at several institutions. Sabin now has 3 of 4, but Tressel was 5-5 in NC Games so you make the comparison. Over time, the tide will ebb and flow, sometimes receding into mediocrity; no program stands the test of time but now is the Tide’s time... but that too shall pass, and for Sabin as well - THAT’S ALL.

I generally can’t stand Musberger, but I did get a kick out of him going all dirty-old-man on A.J. McCarron’s girlfriend.

Lots of jealousy on this thread...

Reminds me of a certain FReeper phenomenom of years ago...

Seriously, if you think Bama sucks, Saban sucks, and the SEC sucks, just pretend that tonight didn't happen. Then you too can be like a good democrat and ignore reality.

They obviously don’t suck when it comes to winning football games. Can’t argue with the SEC record there. I guess they feel that earns them the right to be obnoxious jerks when it comes to exercising bragging rights. But, that’s part of the game these days. The way to shut that up is for opponents to start winning games, something they haven’t done very well recently.

Was rooting for Alabama, but really would have liked to see a closer game. Could Oregon have given ‘Bama any trouble? Stanford probably could have been in this game if they had beat ND, but the Crimson Tide just looked darn impressive. Not sure anyone could have beat them last night.

My favs this Bowl season?
Michigan-South Carolina
Louisville’s upset of Florida (my team plays in the Big Least and beat Louisville for one of their few wins this year)
Oregon’s clinical dismantling of Kansas St.

The refs are proven to be the deciding factor once again.

Are you high? How did the refs hold Notre Dame to under 40 yds rushing?

That’s right! If the refs had called a couple of more penalties on Alabama last night Notre Dame may have on lost by two touchdowns...

Absolutely right! He was a complete washout in the pros and a lying ahole to boot. Congrats to him on another college win, but it does not change the fact that he was a big time loser at the pro level.

Former Irish fan, when it used to be a Catholic university. They simply got thrashed by a better and more experienced team. You could tell that ND’s young quarterback was shell-shocked and caved under the pressure. Surprisingly, the ND coaches did nothing to adjust for the size of the Alabama offensive line. They seemed to think that the defence that played well against lesser opponents could do the same thing against an offensive line where all 5 starters could play right now in the NFL. This year was definitely a positive for the Irish, but they have a long way to go before they can compete with the SEC - as do all those other midwest teams in the Big Ten.

Wonder how many Fightin’ Irish are wearing their “Catholics vs Cousins” t-shirts today?
