KENT STATE UNIVERSITY graduate, Nick Saban Class of 1972, wins his 3rd Championship in 4 years. Our motto back in the early to mid seventies (1972 - 1977) was “Management by Objective”, and the objective is excellence in 2013! Congrats Coach Saban! Include Urban Meyer from Ashtabula and you have the National Champion Coach from Northeastern Ohio five of the last seven years, kinda.

You’re correct - LSU was in 2003 (my how time flies). I guess I wasn’t paying attention to ‘Bama as closely the last 4 years after moving back to TX. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of win/loss records Saban will rack up over his career since he’s still pretty young.

“How did Stanford lose to these guys?”

Senior QB Nunes replaced Luck and proved ineffective and was replaced by freshman Hogan after the first 6 games and 2 loses.

The Stanford team with Hogan would have beaten ND easily.

and I think Stanford would have held Bama under 28.

Stanford held Oregon to 14 and held Wisc. to 14 after Wisc put a 70 against Nebraska. The Stanford D gave up more than 24 only once all season.

I still think Bama beats Stanford because, Bama’s D is also really good. But at least the game would have been close.

“If not for a bush league reversal of an incomplete Oregon would have been in that game”

Oregon was playing at home, averaging 55 a game and only got 14 against Stanford. No excuses for the call, it was first and 10 and would have been 2nd and ten from the duck 10.

Wisc put a 70 against Nebraska.

25 more than Georgia managed.

Miss Alabama Katherine Webb: AJ McCarron's girlfriend scores thousands of new Twitter followers
http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/story/2013-01-07/katherine-webb-twitter-aj-mccarron-girlfriend-miss-alabama-bcs-title-game

The mere sight of Miss Alabama Katherine Webb on national TV, and the words of ESPN commentator Brent Musberger to provide the context, were enough to send the Twitter follower count of Crimson Tide QB AJ McCarron’s girlfriend skyrocketing.

Webb’s first sighting, at the 4:33 mark of the first quarter in Monday's BCS National Championship Game, resulted in an instant spike in traffic across the interwebs, and that also spread to Webb’s Twitter account (@_KatherineWebb). Prior to the game, Miss Alabama had about 2,000 followers. As of 1 a.m. ET Tuesday, she was above 104,000; one of them was Miami Heat star LeBron James. James later unfollowed Webb.....

Miss Alabama Katherine Webb

Is an extremely attractive female. Cameramen are quite astute at finding them amongst tens of thousands of people crowded into a stadium.

The only thing to mar the experience was Brent Musberger slurping and sucking at the ND trough half the night, until he had to quit or be exposed to ridicule.

Ol' Brent was looking at her...

Musberger also “slurped and suckled” at the TV monitor when McCarron’s girl-friend, Katherine Bell, was shown on the screen. He must’ve been gobsmacked by her beauty since he kept on talking about her...and then again a bit later on.

Last year he was "gobsmacked" with the "Honey Badger". He mentioned him like every five minutes in that game last year.

Maybe it is safe to mention another great coach who went to 7 National Championship games in 9-years during one span at one school (winning his conference championship first earning a record of 4-3), and then made it to the NC Game three times winning one over a span of 5-years at another school, during a total span in coaching of 16-years in Div I Coaching (Record in Nation Championship Games 5-5. He coached about 21-years as a head coach - Who was he?

Yes, the blind loyalty to ND never ends, even in the face of humilation and defeat.

ND is a 2nd level team and had no business in a BCS bowl, no less the championship game.

No, Les Miles and his coaching decisions lost that game for LSU.

Are you comparing Tressel, coaching an overrated Ohio team, to Saban?

7 penalties on LSU

1 , ONE fricken penalty on Alabama the whole game . The refs are proven to be the deciding factor once again. The refs should have a team then they’d be invincible.

The best part for me about Saban winning and winning here is this: the Miami media HATES Nick Saban. They maintain he "lied" to "the fans" (translation: they think he lied to them) when he wouldn't reveal anything about his interviews for a new head coaching job.

Keep in mind, this criticism comes from the MEDIA in south Florida. The media that lies, on a daily basis, to its readers, listeners, and viewers.

So I am glad to see Saban succeed just to piss off the press.

I turned the game off at half time.
