On December 29, the owner of American Spirit Arms; Joe Sirochman relayed this chilling news via Facebook:

All, My name is Joe Sirochman owner of American Spirit Arms and I wanted to share my recent experience with Bank of America .(which we have been doing business with for over 10 years)…. Everyone is familiar with the latest increase in guns sales , dealers selling out of inventory , Manufacturers back logged for months , large revenue all generated in the last two weeks …. American Spirit Arms is no exception to the overwhelming demand . What we have experienced is that our web site orders have jumped 500 % causing our web site E commerce processing larger Deposits to BANK OF AMERICA ..Well, this through up a huge RED Flag with Bank of America . So they decided to hold the deposits for further review , meaning that the orders/payments that were coming in through the web ,( being paid by the customer and that were shipped out by American Spirit Arms ),the BANK was keeping (UNDER REVIEW )..as you could imagine this made me furious…

After countless hours on the phone with BANK OF AMERICA I finally got a Manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for FURTHER REVIEW …

HER EXACT WORDS WERE … ..” WE BELIEVE YOU SHOULD NOT BE SELLING GUNS and PARTS ON THE INTERNET “

Either way, we’ll win.

The commie douche bags have no clue about the deep-seated roots Liberty has in North America.

all banks lay in fear of an investigation over money-laundering.

I would submit the opposite is true (imho). I would further submit those banks which are not involved in money-laundering are the exception, and not the rule, currently. Wachovia went down from money-laundering (though we were told something different), but that was one small blimp on the screen. Since Wachovia, the problem of money-laundering has become the general rule by which all banks play (imho), not that all activity by banks is illegal, but instead what was once consider illegal is now considered the norm. Money-laundering, I would submit, is considered the norm.

Next comes illegal freezing of assets of law-abiding citizens to force behavioral modifications. boa is the first red flag to achieving this end (imho), and is a new illegality which is now being considered as normal. The times, we live in, are in fact lawless times. The only things not taking place are what will take place. What will take place are the things which are an OUTRAGE. OUTRAGES start conflicts. Americans smell the signs of things to come and are preparing. Smell of things to come. Exercise of Second Amendment. Actions and reactions.

A few choice excerpts from Andrew Jackson's farewell address:

We are not left to conjecture how the moneyed power, thus organized and with such a weapon in its hands, would be likely to use it. The distress and alarm which pervaded and agitated the whole country when the Bank of the United States waged war upon the people in order to compel them to submit to its demands can not yet be forgotten. The ruthless and unsparing temper with which whole cities and communities were oppressed, individuals impoverished and ruined, and a scene of cheerful prosperity suddenly changed into one of gloom and despondency ought to be indelibly impressed on the memory of the people of the United States.

From its superior strength it could seriously injure, if not destroy, the business of any one of them which might incur its resentment; and it openly claimed for itself the power of regulating the currency throughout the United States.

The distress and sufferings inflicted on the people by the bank are some of the fruits of that system of policy which is continually striving to enlarge the authority of the Federal Government beyond the limits fixed by the Constitution.

useful reading for anyone trying to make sense of this mess we find ourselves in these days.

I don’t know who these guys are but, the bank has very strict laws and rules they operate under.

I have my suspicions about this story.

I sell to banks and have to comply with a whole host of issues.

Fishy.

>> OUTRAGE!

I’ll begin to believe folks are really ‘outraged’ when they drop their Comcast subscriptions (e.g., Chris Matthews), change their bank accounts (this story), and get serious about promoting tough district candidates.

FWIW, I respect Disney, Comcast, Viacom, Gannet, etc., but don’t feel we’re obligated to support the depravity that too often hails from each of these corporate entities.

60 million voted for Romney. Heck, it would take only a fraction of that number to legitimately flip the Country back onto the path of Liberty.

I truly pray you are correct, but with obama and his crowd and the general mood of the citizenry and the citizenry's reaction and exercise of their Second Amendment rights (reaching the point of back-orders), am at a loss to know exactly what to believe, though do agree, fishy, or there is rot. From this corner, smell like rot.

I don’t think i’m wrong and hate to be so certain but, banks can’t do what this guy is saying.

Besides, they are only interested in making money. They service porn, and other sex businesses and drug businesses.

They have way too many accounts to single. out this one company.

My problem, in viewing this, is the government. What is legal today, can be made illegal tomorrow. It is the way of government. Change the rules all the time, at any point in time, to attain the result desired. Have witnessed it before, as have you, probably. Sometimes the end result is a dictate or directive from a few to attain a result desired by a few, and the citizenry is none the wiser and remains unknowing. As I stated, I do not know what is taking place with boa. Maybe my best response is ... never mind, yet still, am smelling rot. The rot am smelling is from government. boa and banking as a whole is smelling fishing.

I’m with you - this is bogus.

Strikingly similar to another “incident” “reported” in April 2012.

Gee.... Who makes the banking rules? Lemme think now. The illegals thing with BOA has screamed for years the banking system is set up to benefit those in power. Backroom deals with the Mexican Prez. Why wouldn’t these same rules be constructed to disarm America. Don’t even get me started on the banking relationship with the Fed. I might not be an economist, nor a banking industry expert... but I know a scam when I see it. Fed + bank= scam. If they are scamming with two things,it’s easy to guess they are simply deceitful.

“I don’t know why any conservative would deal with the BofA.”
____________________________________________________________

While I now have nothing to do with ANY American banks, I do remember when BankOfAmerica came out with one of the first universal credit cards back in the 60s.
The BankAmericard was my first credit card, followed by MasterCard. I guess the BOA cards are now Visa?

“GONNA CALL THE ALLEGATIONS FALSE AND A MARKETING PLOY.”

Marketing ploy?

What would he have to gain by making up false allegations and risk being sued out of business by BOA?

It’s not like he’s some little upstart company trying to generate business. Most, if not all manufacturers of AR type weapons are already a year behind and are not even taking new orders. I suspect that American Spirit Arms is in the same position as the larger manufacturers.

Time will tell and the details of this story will surface within the next few days. We should all wait for the facts to come out before calling BS.

“We Believe You Should Not Be Selling Guns On The Internet”

Freepers are absolute asinine clowns sometimes! This is a NORMAL bank procedure which is outlined in EVERY disclosure the bank gives out required by the gov't at the time of opening an account.

If the bank "thinks" something is happening unusual for your protection and theirs they investigate and can place extended holds on the account.

Simply what this manager meant, although badly worded is it may be criminal, or it's at least suspicious to sell firearms on the internet and they were going to investigate. Until then read your disclosure which you accepted the terms of when you open your account!

Arguably the worst run bank in the U.S. Bank of America in name, but First Union in fact.

They need to cut this crap out and clean up their mortgage portfolio.

It’s not a new account. His company has been dealing with BOA for ten years.

It doesn't matter! Banks have red flag systems in place for certain specious activities and when one of those flag raises they HAVE TO, REQUIRED BY BANKING LAW, investigate the activity...It's that simple.

Again, READ the FUNDS DISCLOSURE!
