LOGANVILLE, Ga. A woman hiding in her attic with children shot an intruder multiple times before fleeing to safety Friday.
The incident happened at a home on Henderson Ridge Lane in Loganville around 1 p.m. The woman was working in an upstairs office when she spotted a strange man outside a window, according to Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman. He said she took her 9-year-old twins to a crawlspace before the man broke in using a crowbar.
But the man eventually found the family. "The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he's staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver,"

Immoral acts are immoral acts, it doesn't matter that it is an accepted definition of the profession.
The fact that judges and juries don't override all of the immoral crap that a lawyer comes up with doesn't excuse the lawyer from their decisions.
Taking a tort case is totally voluntary. When a lawyer facilitates an immoral action, they are not "just doing their job". They are personally responsible.
When I hear a lawyer state, "Its not about justice, its about the law." I know that they are just a prostitute.
The M193 load is the only one I’ll use in our AR’s and M16.I prefer the original twist rate of the M16 too.If the situation deteriorates to point that you actually have to shoot people, then the inhumanity of the wounds inflicted is NOT a consideration.
Never, ever, ever admit you goofed or just didn't get it....
I build my own ARs. It is very difficult to get barrels with the original twist rate of an M16. By original, I mean an M16A1. (it is also very difficult to get ahold of barrels of any twist rate today.) I have barrels of various twist rates. A faster twist rate will stabilize a heavier projectile, so it is needed for loads like a M885 or heavier. I also have loads that use 40 gr. projectiles, much lighter than a M193. What I am going for in a lighter projectile is a very high velocity for the purpose of penetration of body armor, not fragmentation. It is a different approach than green tip penetrators (M885). I picked that up from a guy I know who works for the Secret Service and buys his reloading supplies from the same gun shop that I do.
I agree. a .38 should be sufficient.
The guy is extremely lucky.
He'll get well and be a menace again...he probably has no education and no prospect of a job...ever.
Society would have benefited from his death. A non-productive parasite.
What do mean no prospect of a job? Looks like he has a great future as a target. He’s just not a very good burglar or driver.
Imagine trying to wield a shotgun from a utility space, though I can’t get clear whether it was an attic or a crawl space. Maybe a twenty, but not a twelve...you might not have the aiming and elbow room...does anyone here have a Judge?
"She could have just asked him to leave."
White On Black Crime
Obama/Holder Department of Just Us and Our People to investigate crime.
Another case: Mother of Florida man who chewed off the face of another man said that the police should have subdued her son, they did not have to shoot him.
Comment: The lucrative civil rights industry credo: Never let an opportunity go to waste. . . .
I did a test on bulet penetration.Loaded the M193 bullet in a .22-250 @3650fsp.I used old John Deere plow shares for the target, very tough steel.THe M80 7.62 load when fired from my HK 91 would not penetrate, sometimes the plow share would be broken in half -but no penetration. The M193 bullet blew 3/8 inch diameter holes through the plowshare every time.Looked more like a hole made by a cutting torch.
He/she was kidding. Read the post!
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
A dead perp stays reformed.
Yes. and she could have shot him in the arm or the leg. She didn’t have to shoot him in the face. She was just trying to kill him. I bet her gun was black. it sounds like an assault one
I agree, but the problem I find is that many women lack the hand strength to operate the slide on a semiautomatic. I took my wife to the range and had her fire my 9 mm semi and also my .38 revolver. She decided she wants a 9 mm like mine.
A few nights later I removed the ammunition from my weapon and asked her to pull the slide back. She couldn't do it. I then took a round out of the clip and showed her how to insert it into the clip. Again, the spring was too strong for her.
I think I'm going to have to get her a revolver rather than a semiautomatic. If any knowledgeable FReepers have alternative suggestions I'd love to hear them. I want a weapon she can carry in her pocket book and can handle. I thought of a Ruger LCP, but the recoil is a bit powerful on that piece.
Kel-Tec KSG 15 bullpup pump shotgun. Two magazines, 14 3" shells (or 25 is you go with short home defenseloads).
Worth repeating in letters to the editor, and comments to articles in the MSM. Saving yourself and your children in a real life crime situation often requires more than 6, or even 10 rounds. Criminals aren't necessarily immobilized by a single wound, or even multiple wounds, and anyone defending their life is likely to miss with some shots. And more than one criminal is often present at the crime scene.
The simple question for liberal gun grabbers should be, if large capacity magazines aren't needed, then why do the police and the military use them? After all, they have back up, and arrive at a crime scene with the advantage of team mates and knowledge of what the problem they are facing is. So they should be able to get by with smaller magazine capacities than a citizen who has to respond to a surprise attack by themselves.
Because "dead" is safer.....
Personally I like dogs too. My 155 pound English Mastiff will tell me when someone is coming, make them think twice, and defend me with her life.
Now you know the REAL reason trial lawyers (democrat party's number one contributors) hate "Stand Your Ground" laws!
