LOGANVILLE, Ga. A woman hiding in her attic with children shot an intruder multiple times before fleeing to safety Friday.
The incident happened at a home on Henderson Ridge Lane in Loganville around 1 p.m. The woman was working in an upstairs office when she spotted a strange man outside a window, according to Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman. He said she took her 9-year-old twins to a crawlspace before the man broke in using a crowbar.
But the man eventually found the family. "The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he's staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver,"

Great argument for 30-round magazines, as well...
Or something larger caliber than a .38. But I believe a.38 is a revolver. 6 chambers, no magazine.
Even though the guy survived, you really can't fault the woman's shooting. She did a nice head-to-torso placement of her rounds and tagged him 5 of 6. He was apparently just lucky.
God bless this woman. I hope she understands that she was defending her family and I pray she has no problems from her actions.
This is what happens when the women is without a firearm:

From the article: "The woman then shot him five times, but he survived . . . Slater was shot in the face and neck".
You're right about the shotgun - this guy was still a danger after he was hit with five of her six shots (even though that is pretty good shooting under pressure). I like the stopping power of a 12 gauge whether loaded with a slug, buckshot, or just about anything else at this very short range. Hit a thug with five shots from a 12 gauge, including in the face and neck, and he's not probably going to drive away like this criminal did.
As for Bloomberg, I hope he wises up before his extended family (not his immediate family; they have armed guards) or someone he cares about is hurt because they are disarmed. I hope even more that he wises up before innocent citizens who are not related to him are hurt because of his anti-gun policies.
Great argument for the best hollow points you can buy.
Happy ending.
Actually I hope the guy survives. Then we can see if he changes, having been shot within inches of his life.
Good news site. The stories are objective and well written.
This wife/mother did a fine job of protecting herself and her children. She is an example to all as to why our natural, God given right was incorporated into the Second Amendment. Self defense is just one of the Amendment’s purposes. Citizen protection against tyranny or a mob, recreation, hunting, collecting and other firearms related pursuits are as well.
Chapman said Slater has four exit wounds.
The guy must have an angel looking over his shoulder...Hope this turns him around because he needs to realize being shot six times VERY few people live...
Sounds like she used the old .38 round nose loads. Five Hornady Critical Defense +P loads would have put this guy down for good.
Why is everyone picking on a .38 6-shooter? Could’ve been a 5-shooter like mine, too. Did the job it had to do. The guy is on life support and was disabled. They don’t all have to be dead.
I have to disagree here.
This women could have easily called the police and had them take care of this instead of brandishing a dangerous firearm, which only made the house a target to start!
Way to turn an otherwise safe home into a wild west shootout!
I really had to turn my brain off in order to type that just so you know.
Then he is on the SSI dole. He is going to be expensive whatever happens to him.
But he was able to walk out of the house get in a car and start driving. Presumably he could have still done some damage to the women or kids had he been in the mind frame to do so. I don’t care if they die or not, but if I shoot someone I want them on the ground and incapacitated. Having said that the .38 was better than nothing and certainly saved their lives.
No kidding she swiss cheesed some major organs there, he should have been taking a dirt nap.
Let's hope he didn't survive the night. I'm sure the doctors have better things to do.
