HONG KONG (CNNMoney)
Pioneering Arab broadcaster Al Jazeera has acquired Current TV, and will use the network's wider distribution avenues to launch a new U.S.-based channel.
The takeover will provide Al Jazeera with access to millions of U.S. households, a lucrative market the Qatar-based broadcaster has long coveted. The deal also means the end of Current, the low-rated channel co-founded by former Vice President Al Gore.

Current TV now appears on the following Cable Networks: DirectTV, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, DishNetwork, Verizon FIOS and AT&T uVerse.
I suggest that we demand that these Networks immediately stop airing Current TV broadcasts.
To their credit, Time Warner has already announced that they will drop Current TV ASAP!
More to the point, why was Glenn Beck refused this same deal, a year ago?
Hmm?
No to Glenn Beck, but yes to Al-J?
I don’t think it will last since there’s not much of a market for Jihad TV around here...Time Warner has already dropped it.
The gist I got listening to Beck this morning was that Al Jazeera was more closely aligned wit the ideals of Current than Mercury One.
Take that with a grain or salt, because I was only half paying attention - but that seemed to be his claim.
Who cares? Current is just another crap cable channel. They broadcast crap. All Liberal agenda crap.
Al-Gore Al-Jazeera, Al-AntiWest cr@p, Al of it.
I hate that rich fat hypocrite. Him & Michael Moore both.
More selling out America to our enemies.
Gee, I wonder when there will be shows like “The Real Burkha Housewives of Kabul” or some outdoors show that demonstrates the best techniques for stalking and then beheading humans.
