Police: Woman tried to buy iPads with food stamp card
Tracy Browning taken into custody
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -
Police say a Kentucky woman was arrested after she tried to buy iPads with her food stamp card.
Tracy Browning, of Louisville, KY, attempted to buy two iPads at Walmart with her Electronic Benefit Transfer card. When the card was declined, police said Browning grabbed the items, ran from the store and assaulted a store clerk on her way out of the store.

I saw the "We Accept EBT Cards" sign on a roadside shrimp vendor's truck. Shrimp is a necessity/right, too, I guess.

Obamaphones are being advertised on cable TV.The USDA advertises about how to receive free food stamps to seniors. No more shame in taking handouts...it's a privilege that they need to be taking advantage of. Compliments of you and I.

I think food stamps should only be usable at a government run food store, which sells only staple foods.

"I think food stamps should only be usable at a government run food store, which sells only staple foods."
Make it an on-line store (I'm sure there's an Obamaphone app for that) and have all deliveries made by the USPS. Win-Win the way I see it.

They didn't apprehend her at the first Walmart.
They caught her when she tried to use the EBT card to purchase more iPads at a different Walmart.

I've seen 'em buying cartons of cigs and bottles of liquor, at stores which have HUGE signs accepting Food Stamps/EBT Cards:
Then, with gold grilles and covered in gold chains, they go out and get into 2012 Caddy Escalades, Lexuses and Chevy Suburbans etc. Just amazing.

Obamaphones are being advertised on cable TV. Forget what they call them but You can get one free if you get food stamps or you are on medicare. That would be medicaid not medicare.

She bought the kids..some candy of some sort...with food stamps. I am a guardian and have bought snacks for the kids with their EBT/SNAP card and probably will again in the future. Should be a very small part of overall SNAP budget. Luxury and comfort foods have been evaluated many times by the Department of Agriculture and the logistical nightmare to designate them and enforce coding compliance by food producers led them to abandon an effort to exclude the sweet stuff. Should people also be prevented from purchasing raw ingredients and using them to bake cookies, etc?

EBT cards are also debit cards for more than food. Yeah, and I don't see what EBT cards have to do with the story anyway. She had purchase(s) declined and then tried to steal the items (allegedly).

I believe I was fairly neutral in my post...about what I saw.
Take it for what it was worth.
I'm a reasonable person...and a health care professional. I understand what's in front of me...might not be the story.
