The republican vote allowed the economy to survive another week - there will be other "conversations", including the Debt Ceiling vote, to dig in.

It isn’t nitpicking, though. A majirity was on Obama’s side in tge presidential race, but he was not the only one on the ballot. Democrats didn’t win the house. Elections have consequences, as they are fond of telling us, and the consequence of Republicans retaining the lower legislative body is Democrats don’t get to do whatever they want like ‘08-’10.
