The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is calling for a nationwide boycott of the advertisers of the suburban New York newspaper that published online maps revealing names and addresses of people with pistol permits.
**SNIP**
The group is encouraging concerned citizens to contact national and local advertisers who use the Journal News including Best Buy, CVS, IKEA and Target, among others and tell them to stop running ads until the list of lower Hudson Valley pistol license holders is off the Web.

These boycotts never work. They should start publishing similar data on senior management as they did the publisher of paper.
More on point.
My parents already cancelled the subscription. They and I were listed this rag and are fuming angry still.
F these Commies
Problem is, isnt the cat already out of the bag? Damage is already done.
No. The “news”paper has said it will expand the map to include more counties.
Excellent !
This little stunt has probably doubled the readership of this rag. The best thing to do would have been to ignore it. Now scumbags know who’s armed and who’s not. It makes us safer.
Here’s what I think should be done -
Since they have made gun owners into targets, publish a list of people who do not own guns and make them targets. It would be like a shopping list for thieves.
It seems to me that if gun permits are a matter of public record, then one could make a list of public addresses that do not have permits associated with them.
Or better yet, publish a list of all the high level people at the paper (I wouldn’t include those who are not reporters or decision-makers), along with their addresses and whether or not they have a permit. You could add in any vocal supporters, especially celebrities. This would expose those who are unarmed and would also expose the hypocrites who are.
Great minds.....
See my post #27. (I was typing while you were posting.) The picture is a plus.
I don’t wish ill on anyone, but it is time to fight fire with fire. My father taught me never to start a fight, but that if someone else started one, to hit back hard, and end it.
I am not sure whether the jerks who publish this stuff do so because they fail to think it through and don’t realize that they are putting people in jeopardy or because they do think it through and don’t care that they are putting others in jeopardy. In either case, it’s time to retaliate in kind.
Since they have made gun owners into targets, publish a list of people who do not own guns and make them targets.
One of the other posters suggested a class action suit. I think that may happen. Id want to be as far away from a countersuit as possible. What the paper did is unconscionable and potentially actionable. Once a lawsuit materializes no other paper will do anything so foolish as this.
They are tossing matches into the dynamite factory with these stunts. Action begets reaction.
Cut off the head of the snake before it can bite again.
True, but Im getting tired of fighting Medusa.”
Medusa saw her own face, turned to stone, & got her head cut off. All the snakes died. Not the classical scholar here, but I think the Hydra headed monster is more apt.
Anyway, how about that guy who collected all the subscription cards from all the magazines in the local library, filled in the proud gungrabber’s Googled address, then watched in glee as the postman delivered bags & bags of unsolicited mail to the jerk’s house which he was helpless to stop.
The paper has in effect cased the homes in the county for the criminal element. The district attorney should charge them with being complicit with the crime before the fact with the first crime committed in the county where a home is broken into.
It would probably be more effective to keep putting signs in their yards that “THIS FAMILY DOES NOT BELIEVE IN GUNS.” The bad guys will know what to do.
“Damage is already done.”
Publicize as much “free” information about any known employees of the paper, and point out that they are probably unarmed and unable to defend themselves, their families, or their ill-gotten gains from being lib puppets.
“True, but Im getting tired of fighting Medusa.”
That’s understandable but that’s also what the liberals count on, that you give up before they give up. It’s also why Communists like to have 500 year plans.
Public record, eh. So that means we can demand birth certificates be printed?
There is one in Hawaii I would like you to get for me.
I suspect the Journal - in the great tradition of total bias - will not print things that are in the public record if it’s doesn’t A) help their guy or B) hurt one of our guys.
Here’s a list of some of the advertisers: http://www.wcfoany.org/?p=197
