David Gregory to Obama: 'Is This Your Lincoln Moment?' Obama: "I never compare myself to Lincoln." Daniel Halper December 30, 2012 11:06 AM
NBC host David Gregory asked President Barack Obama this morning, "Is this your Lincoln moment?"
The question came up after Obama invoked the movie Lincoln when talking about Republicans and Democrats coming together to work out a deal on the "fiscal cliff.
"Well, no," Obama said in response to Gregory's question. "Look, a) I never compare myself to Lincoln. And b) obviously the magnitude of the issues is quite different from the Civil War and slavery. The point, though, is democracy has always been messy. We're a big diverse country that is constantly sort of arguing about all kinds of stuff. But eventually, we do the right thing."
...it was a fortunate fluke but a fluke nonetheless by American traditions...
...we won't lose again with the 3rd.
Interpretation: I consider myself comparable to Lincoln -- and FDR too for that matter -- but after thinking long and hard about whether to say so out loud, I have determined it makes better political sense not to. Instead I rely on sycophants like you, David, to make the comparison. So thank you.
What? Barry’s going to emancipate the blacks from the Dem plantation????
Considering Obama and Reid are co- conspirators in this kabuki dance over the fiscal cliff.... It’s hardly a “Lincoln Moment “ ....
” I never compare myself to Lincoln.”
Next sentence: “ Why the hell do you think I hire so many flunkies, including you?”
It is his Hitler moment.
Oh, bullcrap.
In fact, the only time he isn't comparing himself to Lincoln, or encouraging others to compare him to Lincoln, is when he's trying to compare himself to Reagan.

There he goes again.
With worshippers like this, no wonder the Kenyan thinks he’s God.
Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
I think John Bolton meant the top 10 floors of the NY Slimes building.
If the media did its job, Obama would be sitting in a bar in Chicago blackmailing some company.
“I never compare myself to Lincoln.”

President-Elect Barack Obama has been doing his best to “channel” Abraham Lincoln ever since he kicked off his campaign for the presidency. He began his campaign in Springfield, Illinois at the steps of the Old State Capitol, where Lincoln served for eight years in the Illinois Legislature. He’s referred to Doris Kearns Goodwin’s “Team Of Rivals” countless times both during and after the campaign. The President-Elect will partially re-trace the route taken by Lincoln to the nation’s capital, departing from Philadelphia on a train. A welcoming ceremony will be held at the Lincoln Memorial on January 18. Just announced this morning is yet another move by Obama to honor the memory of his political hero, Abraham Lincoln.
According to the Presidential Inaugural Committee website, Mr. Obama will be sworn in as the nation’s 44th president while he places his hand on the Bible used by Abraham Lincoln on March 4, 1861 during Lincoln’s first inauguration. This will mark the first time that this particular Bible will be used at a presidential swearing-in since Lincoln himself used it. The Lincoln Bible is in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress, which was under no obligation to let it be used by Obama.
According to the site, Obama is “is deeply honored that the Library of Congress has made the Lincoln Bible available for use during his swearing-in. The President-elect is committed to holding an inauguration that celebrates the unity of America, and the use of this historic Bible will provide a powerful connection to our common past and common heritage.”

Russert was a well disguised hack as evedenced by his son Luke. Where do you think luke got his attitude and "facts" from? Tim's only redeeeming feature was that he did not spew hate and venom like many on the left. He acted as a gentleman, a rarity for the progs thses days.
