Pulled out my MM act. in cash back in early '08 and had no forms to fill out. ICBW, but I think the forms only come into play with cash deposits or purchases over $10K

No, if you cash a check or make a witdrawl of 10K or more from YOUR OWN checking account the FERAL government wants to be notified.

I ran into this in 2010 when I cashed a check for some overtime back pay in excess of 25K. Told the Teller I wanted cash and she said I had to fill the government form to report it. I asked if I put in my checking and then withdrew it would I have to fill it out she said, yes.

Not sure when it was put into place. Stinking government.
