An artist has caused huge controversy after placing a statue of Adolf Hitler praying on his knees in the former Warsaw Ghetto, the Daily Mail reports.
Some Jewish groups have expressed fury at the decision to install the provocative artwork in the area where thousands of Jews were forced to live during the rule of the Nazi regime.
In total, around 300,000 Jews from the Ghetto died or were sent to their death in concentration camps.
The statue by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, entitled HIM, has attracted a large number of visitors since its installation last month, reported the Daily Mail.

I get the idea that this artist blames Christianity for all of the bad things in the world.
“Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
We are on the edge of repeating history. What will we do?
Some folks (hey: they’re crazy) think that FEMA has already set up internment camps here in the US and that the economic collapse will come in the Spring of 2013 and that the clampdown that follows will sweep up the primary opposition to the dictatorship while the country panics and begs the government to “do something”.
Funny. It’s always “art” when it desecrates something decent.
hitler prayed to the devil
such a great “artiste” /sarc
None of the so-called “artists” today can create beauty, just travesty
Why should an EU country not honor the intellectual and spiritual father of the EU?
Yeah, v 1.0 had a few flaws - it was practically in beta, for heaven’s sake. But THIS time, I’m sure it will work out...
...a statue of Adolf Hitler praying on his knees in the former Warsaw Ghetto... by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, entitled HIM.He's also anti-Catholic.
Well noted.
I think Senator Dianne Feinstein should go to Poland to explain her views on people owning semiautomatic rifles with large capacity magazines.
Hitler on his knees? Not such a bad idea, just not in the Warsaw Ghetto, it needs to be in a lake of fire.
But the Rabbi idea works, too...
“Jews Outraged”
So? I’m outraged that 75% of them voted for the Marxist in Chief. I’m sure they would be cheering if a statue of Obama were placed there.
In the pursuit of expression, a kind of desperation for relevance and purpose, can take hold of an artist which is so great that the artist will imagine a controversy destine to make him/her the center of attention. It is unfortunate that this has become typical rather than rare and seems a particular condition of illiberalism, expressly pronounced in progressives. In the art world, such a piece as “Hitler praying” will be considered transgressive. In common parlance it is merely an intellectual affluent of postmodern sewage, which in fact needs no visual and adds nothing to culture. Artists’ will often call these pieces, (cough)... challenging or prophetic visions.
P.s. Hey, also, were do I adopt one of those Kitties as seen on the thread:
facebood (Let's have a rousing FR welcome for the Drunken N006) Free Republim
I need a drinking buddy.
Polsnd should have never let this piece of vermin into the country.
>> this artist blames Christianity
No kidding.
Only the deranged, uneducated, and foolish disparage Christ.
I'm outraged that Jewish run Hollywood constantly portrays Christians and Christianity as perverted kooks.
I'm outraged that Jews in our government, education system and media constantly undermine Christian values.
I'm outraged that Jewish comedians mock Jesus Christ.
Here's a word for everyone: "Kiss the Son (Jesus the Messiah), lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him." Psalm 2:12
Really, dude?
I get your point..most Israelis are outraged at the zero scum....but the Florida and N. East Jews got in line and did as they were told. Sad..very sad.
