Parents and administrators' reactions are ranging from hesitation to anger over a proposal by the nation's largest gun-rights lobby to put an armed police officer in every school.
Superintendent Hank Grishman of the Jericho, N.Y., schools on Long Island says he is outraged by the idea. He says putting more guns in schools won't make children safer, and could even put them in the line of more gunfire.
Parent Helen Gym in Philadelphia believes the proposal is "extraordinarily opportunistic."

Maybe these selected parents would prefer that the schools be designated as Double Special Gun Free Zones, i.e., not only the victims but also now the perps are not allowed to possess guns.
I want everyone who feels capable of bearing arms, in schools, churches, malls, and elsewhere... To be able to do so without fear of prosecution.
Literally, it is the ONLY way to protect everyone everywhere under all circumstances.
Full stop. End of story.
“Parent Helen Gym in Philadelphia believes the proposal is “extraordinarily opportunistic.””
And now that we know what you think of Obama, what do you think of what the NRA said?
What do you expect from people who suspend kids for drawing a sketch of a gun?
Not this parent. There is already an armed deputy in my daughter’s school, and I can think of more than a couple of teachers and admins I wouldn’t mind being armed - they’re reservists and National Guard and retired military/leo
If you Google “School Resource Officers” you’ll discover there is a nationwide program that already is placing police officers in schools. They do it in my county and they hardly ever randomly gun down a student. They’re also great recruiters for a law enforcement career path. I’m completely baffled by those who are shocked by the concept.
Tell me, how many years of training and experience does it take a Superintendent in NY public education to get this stupid?
I say YES, they are! And I'll be going to the next School Board Meeting and demanding that they provide ARMED SECURITY in the schools my children attend!
“Are leftists that stupid? Are they so brainwashed that their irrational fear of guns trumps the lives of the children entrusted to their care?”
Well some maybe. But this is about taking control of everything. They know that if we the people have no guns they can impose their will. Take your property, your wealth, your children, anything. Look at how well it has worked in the past for Germany, Russia, China, anywhere there is oppression.
Let’s frame this correctly. This is a CIVIL RIGHTS issue.
Every time someone suggests that there should be more gun laws, our reply must refer to it as a violation of our CIVIL RIGHTS.
As usual the sheeple believe they will be safe from the wolves by getting rid of the shepherd and his dog and pretending there are are no wolves out there.
“Biger signs” oughtta do it!
How does someone who can say something THAT irretrievably asinine become the school superintendent?
It's like making that Kinko's clerk that served her jury duty in a Star Trek uniform head of NASA!
That is because the public employees need protection, and they are vulnerable, and soft, and easily hurt, and psycologically injured, by mere mention of bad guys with guns.
Not so our elementary school children. /s
So Superintendant Hank Grishman and parent Helen Gym, do you, or do you not, wish that there was someone armed at SHES to confront that evil a-hole? When a similar attack occurs, and your children are in the school, do you, or do you not, hope that someone is armed to confront the attacker? Answer the questions! They are easy answers for any sane person. That is, someone who is not a left-wing liberal idealogue with his head up his ass!
B.S.
This is what passes for logic with liberals. He's (very much) unwittingly suggesting that it's safer for the students that the maniac shooter is only one there with a gun....

Putting MORE guns in schools??? I thought guns were banned.
