Walmart Is Running Out Of Guns

Semi-automatic rifles are sold out at many Walmart locations, Matt Townsend at Bloomberg Businessweek reports.
"Searches of five kinds of semi-automatic rifles on Wal-Marts website showed them to be out of stock at stores in five states, including Pennsylvania, Kansas and Alabama," writes Townsend.
Walmart, he notes, doesn't sell guns online. Shoppers put in their zip code and the website tells them if their local store has a particular weapon in stock.
Meanwhile, Dick's Sporting Goods has suspended sales of rifles at its stores nationwide in light of the horrific shooting in Newtown that took the lives of 26 people, mostly children. But Walmart has decided to continue to sell guns, including rifles.
It did remove the description and picture of the Bushmaster AR-15 the model used in Newtown from its website after the shootings, and the model is still available in stores.
Walmart doesn't reveal the number of guns that it sells, but at an October analyst meeting the retailer mentioned that gun revenue increased by 76 percent in the first half of the fiscal year, according to Bloomberg Businessweek.
And it's not just Walmart selling out some of its gun models. A Texas gun shop owner told CNBC that the Sandy Hook shootings have "created a national shortage" of firearms.
"All of our suppliers are almost sold out of items across the board," said the shop owner.

He sure increase their sales
Poor Dick's Sporting Goods losing all those sales LOL
Pretty smart business move. Take your stock off the market, reducing supply, other vendors run out, price goes way up, then reintroduce your stock to the market........
Walmart sells guns?
(s) nully in California...
This morning our WM in Wasilla AK had a full display case of guns that are popular right now though it did look like the pistols were all gone, every single one. But then in Alaska we have more rifles than pistols for a very good reason.
Has anyone ‘shopped the Time magazine cover to read “Firearms salesman of the year” yet?
(So why *is* Obama purposely promoting gun sales? The natural result of his demagoguery and not-so-subtle threats - i.e. stampedes to the gun sellers - is too predictable to have been unintended and unforeseen.)
After all, the community organizer is a particularly malevolent, arrogant, and manipulative POS.
I'm more pleased with my new tagline every day!!!
Craigslist prices will increase accordingly.
On the flip side I got a very nice AR-15 a week and a half ago that has all Vltor parts, except for a Krieger barrel.
About a week ago, before the Newtown atrocity, I visited my local WalMart here in Maine.
I walked past the sporting goods, and then went over to the firearms display. I eyed over a Mossberg shotgun, and then admired an AR-15 in another display cabinet. It had a 30-round magazine, and the price was $747.00.
I’m going there tomorrow (for groceries, prescription drugs), and I’ll check out the guns and ammo. I’m sure the semi-automatic rifles have been purchased by other shoppers since my last visit.
If Obama were smart and really wanted to improve the economy, he’d have a presser tomorrow stating that he’s been going over highway fatality statistics and thinks it’s time to ban American made cars, especially those particularly nasty electric ones.
C/L zots them when they see a firearm listing but people get inventive and title something like "S&W 2nd Amendment Tool 9mm Drill Bit".
You're welcome and Merry Christmas.
Ooops, brainfart, I meant Alaska List...http://alaskaslist.com
Our part of the “dialog” about guns.
I hope they’re being sold instead of pulled...
Good question, the shelves were starkly bare of all calibers, not just the ones I was interested in.
Will probably go back Saturday with wife to buy some gift cards, will be interesting to see if they have restocked.
Sad thing where I live, it's Wally-World or drive 30 miles to the next town with a few gun shops and Academy Sporting Goods.
Its Dems that are causing this shortage(demand increase) by inducing a panic.
“10 pack of 30rnd PMags for $125
You’re welcome and Merry Christmas. “
Out of stock
