You are thinking in terms of a two party system.
Try again with a political class, that is dead set on retaining power. They (The political class) can’t have a major failure on the part of either party - that would weaken the monopolistic grip.
So, they really cover for Hilliary. They feign opposition, while strengthening their hold on their political/elected positions.
Did you ever notice that if a congressman “plays ball” they get:
- committee appointments
- leadership positions
- Funding for re-election from the national party (DNC/RNC)
- The opposition party does not run a candidate against “ball players” in opposing party
- Reps who make waves, lose funding and have a strong well-funded candidate run against them
It is just about over, and if grass-roots conservatives don’t emerge and take some power, it will not end well.
