Some of the most popular movies and TV shows are full of violence and gun use.
And dont get started on graphic novels, 90% of which are riddled with violent imagery.
So how about we institute a clampdown on the 1st amendment for Hollywood? Seems fair. Kids today seem to see violent death as entertainment. Shouldn’t Hollywood “give up” some of those freedoms to “save” them?
Quentin Tarantino can produce a two hour gorefest, receive critical acclaim and be held entirely unaccountable for violence in society. Sarah Palin need only use the word ‘target’ in some campaign literature and she becomes a Moriarty-like criminal mastermind.
Video games don’t only promote violence they teach kids how to really shoot. A friend of mine went on different shows talking about this, how they actually use some form of video games to train police and military.
And let’s not forget the music, vile violent lyrics that send an evil message. This generation is buried in violent media.
Total nonsense. 99.99% of people who play those games and watch those movies/shows don’t kill anyone. There have always been, and will always be crazy people. What video games were Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin, etc playing? Are you sure it wasn’t heavy metal ...or maybe Elvis?
And don’t forget cRap music. Hos, drugs, sex, and killing, it’s all there, even if you can’t understand the words.
A very good analogy. It is the exact thing that the liberals are suggesting doing to the 2nd Amendment.
The big difference is that the only one that would have any positive effect on reducing the violence would be an assault on 'Hollywood' 1st amendment rights to distribute filth.
