That
98% figure (Link) is bogus.
The link is to a lengthy detailed study, but I can tell you three reasons why it's bogus from the top of my head:
- It only included women who were "sexually active," and "trying to avoid pregnancy," therefore excluding from the outset all the nuns, all the young unmarried women who are not fornicating, and all the married women who are OK with becoming pregnant. In other words, it excluded fom the outset almost all the Catholic women who are actually living in a Catholic manner.
- They asked about having used any contraceptive ever. So a woman who used a contraceptive even once in her 40-year fertile span, is listed as a contraceptor, which makes as much sense as listing a 70-year-old conservative Republican woman who, when she was 18, once voted for a Democrat as a Democrat.
- The AGI's own figures show 11% of their respondants use "no method". That fact alone would disprove their 98% figure.
However, the Obama administration has done its best to spread this fabricated statistic for their own partisan purposes.
I hope you will refrain from aiding them in this effort.
