Like it or not, the exact phrase “assault weapon” was concocted and accepted by society to mean “military-styled large-capacity semiautomatic gun”, not to be confused with “assault rifle”. It’s in the modern popular lexicon. Get used to it. Getting pedantic just irritates most people.
I don’t care if people find it pedantic. This is why we’re losing ground to the leftists who create buzzwords that distort reality.
Look at how the tax cuts became “for the rich”, healthcare was about “Cadillac plans” and the like.
I won’t play their games which are stacked against us.
