NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut/AP) — CBS News is reporting that 27 people are dead, including 18 students, after a mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. The gunman is among the dead.
CBS News’ John Miller reports there is preliminary information that the gunman was the father of one of the students. Miller additionally reports the gunman is 20 years old and is from New Jersey.
The shooter was killed and apparently had two guns, a person with knowledge of the shooting said. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was still under way. It is not known whether the shooter took his own life or was killed.
CBS News reports that a second person is in custody and that SWAT is now investigating the home of the suspect.
A witness tells WFSB-TV that a second man was taken out of the woods in handcuffs wearing a black jacket and camouflage pants and telling parents on the scene, “I did not do it.”
Fox Connecticut reports that the shooting began in the kindergarten classroom.
“It’s just a bad situation,” Newtown Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Stoyak told CBS 2.
Two students and a teacher were also injured in the shooting and they were taken to Dansbury Hospital, spokeswoman Diane Burke told CBS News York.

According to FNC they are questioning a 2nd man who appeared out of the woods by the school in fatigue pants and claimed to parents hat he didn’t do it.
Actually, Kindergarten children at this time of the school are eithe 5 or 6..........
I just heard some FBI profiler (retired) say on Fox that 20 school kids in China were stabbed today.
Confirming what I always say - if people are nuts, they will find a way to "show" that regardless of what weapons are available. Nut is nuts.

Me too, a woman who had her first child at sixteen and the sixteen year old daughter had a baby too. Teh grandmother thought it was funny.
This is an act of provocation allowing for new legislation to outlaw handguns. I have no evidence yet, but this is a play straight out of Rules for Radicals. Watch out, Zero’s about to make his big move to disarm the law abiding public. Mark my words.

A man wielding a knife in China’s central Henan province attacked dozens of pupils outside a village school on Friday morning, injuring 22 students and one local, according to Guangshan county’s official website.
The 36-year-old suspect, identified by the police as Min Yingjun, attacked pupils of Wan Quan Elementary School in Chenpeng village at 7.40am, said the report.
Police said they later arrested the suspect, a resident of Zoupeng village in Guangshan county. It’s not clear what prompted his attack.
In a separate knife attack in Beijing, police announced on Thursday evening that they had arrested a man suspected of slashing the faces of "a number" of women in subway cars.
The 25-year-old suspect, identified only by his last name Hu, confessed to slashing the faces of his victims, mostly young women, on the city's crowded Nos 5 and 10 subway lines, according to the police statement.
Hu "took revenge on society because of relationship frustrations," it said.
One victim told a local newspaper that she felt someone bump into her as the subway door opened at a stop, but she didn't realise she was hurt until several stops later, when she saw blood dripping on the floor. She received 15 stiches.
Days before the police report, rumours of a serial subway slasher on the loose had been circulating on social media sites such as weibo, China's Twitter-like service. The police statement was the first official acknowlegement of the crime spree. Local media said they had identified at least five similar cases.

FYI I am with Mr. K and agree with Rush that the reporting MSM is working like Banchees to bend this to Tea Party and Conservatives for their anti-gun agenda.
Already the Gubmit is trying to hide the 2nd Shooter and make it a crazy.
FOX saying the New Town home being searched. The body of the mother of the shooter was in the home. They also may have the shooter’s car.
20-year-old male is the perfect candidate for the schizophrenic diagnosis (or to be used as an assassin for the same reason).
If it’s ever found that the US government is using these “gunmen” as assassins in order to advance a political agenda... I can’t even say what fate I hope awaits whoever is responsible.
