Get government out of the marriage business and you can tell the sodomites and liberals to go piss up a rope.
Until then, they will use government to over-right your Religions tenets, starting with marriage.
For those of you who are slow of thought, that is what Glenn was say. Nothing more. Nothing less...

That implies that all tax deductions for those who are “married” are out the window.
How about immigration? Should government recognize an immigrant’s spouse if he/she were to be given a green card?
My point is this — IN PRACTICE, how do you get government OUT of marriage when they DO have to recognize certain unions in their day to day operations?
There is this thing called “family law”. It deals with issues of child custody, tutorship, financial and social responsibilities and so on. So that dependent children and sometimes spouses are cared for, healthy and hopefully not utterly ignorant. Every civilization has family law, and every government deals with it, either well or poorly. Not dealing with it at all is an example of dealing with it poorly.

Very well said. Somehow or other, I'm not shocked by the FReetards on this board that dont see the irony of their whining about liberal tyrannical tendencies and completely ignore their own. As Glenn says, Republicans ARE the Whig party.
How do you do that? Our laws governing pensions, survivor benefits, etc. depend on a definition of marriage and recording it. 20% of the population are atheists.
We have religions like Islam that permit up to four wives. How should they be treated?
The government has been involved with marriage since the inception of the Republic. We have laws against incest, polygamy, marrying children, etc. Should those laws be eliminated and leave it up to individuals to decide?
How do you get government out of marriage, unless there is no such thing as marriage?
