No, the way it should be done is the tax dollars should pass through the hands of the parents to be used for the education of their children, not directly to the private schools.

That claim that the state dollars require common core curriculum is bogus anyway because parochial schools have been allowed to use public school buses and public school facilities since I was in school. The Catholic school kids used our planetarium and swimming pool and there was no curriculum requirement.

I don’t care what one liberal judge said in Louisiana.

Tax dollars remain tax dollars no matter how they are 'laundered'. The no-strings-attached promise regarding curriculum and assessment, has not existed since RACE-TO-THE-TOP came into being. The concern is the loss of oversight and local control by ELECTED school Boards. Taxation WITH representation is a foundational Constitutional concept which MUST be preserved.

Choice and Charters are creating a REGIONAL system. Control moves closer and closer to full FEDERAL Top-Down control. A SOVIET system, if you will.

NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND was a carefully chosen descriptor of the system. Race to The TOP speaks for itself, doesn't it? Any child being educated outside of the system in Private or Parochial or Home Sghool situation WILL be brought IN. Remember "NO" child will be left behind.
