In the final debate before General Convention approved a provisional church liturgy to bless the lifelong relationships of same-gender couples, Episcopal Diocese of Chicago Deputy Ian Hallas, 22, spoke about his sister, Louisa, and her civil union.
The love that she shares with her partner is unconditional and speaks to the ideal relationships all of us should strive to have, he told the House of Deputies on July 10 in Indianapolis. I often get asked by churchgoers and nonchurchgoers why I am a part of this body. The reason I return is for my sister. I seek to assure that she not only has the same rites as myself but also the same privileges.
The new rite, The Witnessing and Blessing of a Lifelong Covenant, was authorized for use with diocesan episcopal permission beginning Dec. 2, the first Sunday of Advent.

Yeah... forget about what the Bible says, and what God commands us to do; our feelings are more important.
“Blessing”??
I don’t think so!
I would not want to be caught blessing sin in Gods name. I think God takes exception to that kind of behavior
Of course it's possible, depending on what entity is doing the "blessing." But it is not God.
Sounds like Flip Wilson’s old church. The Church of W’as Happenin’ Now.
So let me understand this: if a married boss loves his secretary unconditionally and leaves his wife and children for her, it that ok with him?
Well, you have to admire that sort of love between siblings. My brothers just gave me noogies and made fun of my orthodontic braces. We didn't become friends until email was invented and we could share cartoons about Ted Kennedy, Jimmy Carter and the Obama administration.
Here is a "church" that lets 22 year old gibbering idiots tell them what to do. No wonder they are shrivelling and dying on the vine.
Where’s the scriptural support for this? Nowhere in the Bible is there a same sex ceremony/blessing.

How do you bless buggery?
They can't even get that part correct: nouns have genders; human beings have a sex, i.e., male or female.
And with that statement, you’ve encapsulated religious liberalism in a nutshell.
So, if siblings want to marry one another, he’ll bless that as well (so long as they share “unconditional love”).
Episcopal Diocese of Chicago Deputy Ian Hallas, 22, spoke about his sister, Louisa, and her civil union.
The love that she shares with her partner is unconditional and speaks to the ideal relationships all of us should strive to have,
What she shares with her fellow pervert is a sin in the Word of God.
This Church no longer follows the path.....
I don’t miss being a member of the Queer church... When I see this it affirms my decision to leave that abyss behind in my life. No matter what libs touch, they destroy it.
I left too. But I miss the church I grew up in, before it was trashed and doctrine twisted inside out
