War On Terror: As the regime of Bashar Assad disintegrates, the security of his chemical arsenal is in jeopardy. The No. 2 general in Saddam Hussein's air force says they were the WMDs we didn't find in Iraq.
King Abdullah of neighboring Jordan warned that a disintegrating Syria on the verge of civil war puts Syria's stockpile of chemical weapons at risk of falling into the hands of al-Qaida.
"One of the worst-case scenarios as we are obviously trying to look for a political solution would be if some of those chemical stockpiles were to fall into unfriendly hands," he said.
The irony here is that the chemical weapons stockpile of Syrian thug Assad may in large part be the legacy of weapons moved from Hussein's Iraq into Syria before Operation Iraqi Freedom.
If so, this may be the reason not much was found in the way of WMD by victorious U.S. forces in 2003.
In 2006, former Iraqi general Georges Sada, second in command of the Iraqi Air Force who served under Saddam Hussein before he defected, wrote a comprehensive book, "Saddam's Secrets."
It details how the Iraqi Revolutionary Guard moved weapons of mass destruction into Syria in advance of the U.S.-led action to eliminate Hussein's WMD threat.
As Sada told the New York Sun, two Iraqi Airways Boeings were converted to cargo planes by removing the seats, and special Republican Guard units loaded the planes with chemical weapons materials.

I still believe that we should'a wasted Syria's military infrastructure/hardware on the way into Iraq.
Looks like a great vindication for Bush...Maybe now Colin Powell can apologize for all his years whining about being “forced ‘ to go to the UN or just STFU in general!
The name Colin Powell came to mind as soon as I read this article. However, do not hold your breath waiting for that ingrate to apologize.
Bush will never get vindicated by the angry, blame the other guy leftists. They will never admit they were wrong.
Report: Assad Has Transferred WMDs to Hezbollah
And as we have learned over the years, a Red Line from Progressive Obama, is not a real line at all. Certainly not the kind of lines Bush et. al. used to draw. Right now the only red lines that matter in the Middle East are the ones drawn by Israel.
Israeli ambassador: Chemical weapons passed from Syria to Hezbollah would be 'game-changer'
Touche.
My sneering, snarling liberal friends took that holier than thou glow as they condescendingly assured me that Saddam never had any WMDs.
Thus I can only conclude you’re a racist who wants to see a black man fail....
Definitely the WMDs that the “brilliant” college kiddies and their commie/Marxist “perfessors” kept telling us never existed in Iraq.
So who is surpeized? this is old news and we that think have known this for a long time, how ever, the MSM will not expose this, and if it comes out in MSM, they will make sure that no conection to Saddam is made, and the coolaid drinkers will make sure they have some sort of cover story, anyway, the transfer of cemical weapons of mass destruction is already under way to Hizbolla in Lebanon as we speak
When a leftist/socialist/fascist/Marxist has an idea that doesn't work it is only because they didn't do enough of it. As far as the WMD's go, we gave the Russians 14 months to help Saddam move them into Syria. We had images of Russian convoys taking something into Syria. This of course never made the "news"; Minitrue found it uninteresting. While all the games with the UN were going on I was saying that we should have changed direction and staged for Iraq but hit Iran instead. Surprise counts for allot in war.
He had thousands. In fact his use of WMD's against Iran turned the tide in the Iran and Iraq war. The UN spent close to 10 years trying to destroy them all after Gulf War I. The WMD they destroyed during that time frame are even documented. Thousands of WMD components. The issue was, did the UN destroy them all and why did Saddam's own records suggest more existed ? And could we trust a UN inspector who later turned out to be a pedophile ?
IMHO - This is what happened. The US had decided to clean up the tyrants in the Middle East. During the first Gulf War, before the UN destroyed the remnants of Saddam's program, the US bombed most of Saddam's WMD facilities. If you remember we were trying to guarantee to Israel that Saddam would not have WMD on the Scuds he was firing at Israel. Our goal was to completely destroy the facilities from the air. The result was the spread of the components into the local area. It ended up making some lands off limits. There was one facility that was bombed, but not completely destroyed. The UN later inspected it and had to seal it because it was too dangerous. That facility was still there after we took Baghdad. It was verified initially to still be sealed. Then a few months later, it was found to have its seals broken and its WMD components that remained had been removed. No one knows where it went.
So now perhaps we know why even GWB admitted no WMD were found. The main reason was because insurgents, rebels and terrorists had taken the WMD components that were still there. And the US could not admit that had occurred. It would make the coming invasions of Libya and Syria almost impossible to pull off. So the entire world was led down the neo-con rabbit hole. We did not have to fear WMD's in the Middle East, since they did not exist. Thus the black ops leading from behind invasion of Libya and Syria could continue under Obama.
So now we have a Progressive President trying to justify an invasion of Syria because Assad possesses WMD and may use them. The Oligarchs have gotten the Progressives stuck into this laughable position because they were hoping the terrorist bombing in Damascus earlier in the year would have killed Assad.
Oh, hell no! This stuff will be suppressed in media and never reported.
The New York Times and the rest of the JournoList Conspiracy have cast The Truth in concrete and are hugely invested in their castings.
No, History's Holy Truth has been written and transmitted to the ages. No rewrites!
Note the date of the below. I don’t quite understand how people have reached the conclusion that Syrian chemical weapons must have come from Iraq.

Rabin says Israel prepared to counter Syrian chemical threat
Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin accused Syria Tuesday of equipping itself with chemical weapons and the means to deliver them, but asserted that Israel is working to face ‘’this grave danger.’’
In a speech to the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, Rabin gave few details of what exactly Israel believes is Syria’s chemical weapons capability.
News reports recently have said Syria’s capability is quite advanced.
‘’We are aware of Syria’s equipping itself with chemical weapons and artillery shells, bombs and surface-to-surface warheads carrying this means (of warfare),’’ he said. ‘’We are doing and will do everything to prepare ourselves in regard of this grave danger.’’
Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, meanwhile, told Israel Army radio, ‘’Obviously Israel will not sit with its hands folded’’ in the face of such a threat. ‘’I do not believe that Israel has to answer today as to what we will actually do.’’
London’s Sunday Telegraph newspaper reported two weeks ago that Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi has supplied Syria with Soviet-made, missile-carried nerve gas that could kill everyone in any targeted Israeli city.
Quoting ‘’highly placed Western intelligence sources,’’ the report said the nerve gas warheads also had been supplied to Iran and could delivered by Soviet-made Scud B missiles, which have a range of more than 160 miles.
The Telegraph said the source of the warheads was the Soviet Union, but Gadhafi had passed them on to Syria and Iran a few weeks earlier.
