The Romney campaign spent an estimated $356 million between January 1, 2011 and October 17, 2012 in its unsuccessful effort to defeat incumbent President Barack Obama.
According to Federal Election Commission documents, as reported by OpenSecrets.org, $33 million of this amount was paid to two consulting firms with ties to key staffers at both the Romney campaign and the RNC.
Targeted Victory LLC, a Minnesota company with executive offices in Virginia, was paid $17 million for digital communications by the Romney campaign. FLS Connect LLC, an Arizona corporation with headquarters in Minnesota, was paid $16 million for voter contact and telemarketing services. Again, this is through October 17th, the final amount is likely much higher.
Based on press reports and publicly available business incorporation documents, it appears that three individuals had control of these funds: Tony Feather and Michael Beach at Targeted Victory LLC; Tony Feather and David James at FLS Connect LLC.
Significantly, key staffers at both the Romney campaign and the RNC have close recent ties with both firms.
One prominent figure at the Romney campaign -- Political Director Rich Beeson -- and one prominent figure at the RNC -- Chief of Staff Jeff Larson -- were both until recently partners at FLS Connect LLC. It's unclear what, if any, ongoing relationship they may have with the company. A second prominent player in the Romney campaign -- Digital Director Zac Moffat -- has not fully disclosed what, if any, ongoing business relationship he maintains with Targeted Victory LLC. Press reports have referred to Moffat as the co-founder of Targeted Victory LLC.
Given Romney's loss to President Obama, the return on investment for this $33 million paid to a handful of well connected consultants has come under harsh questioning from many quarters.

I suspect someone wanted to lose...pushed for the worst Republican candidate and then ensured he would lose. Maybe a “double agent” working for the Communists (Democrats)?

Well, I am glad that I DID make donations to the Romney campaign and if tomorrow the choice was between Romney and Obama, I’d do it all over again.
(I could be wrong, but it seems to me that Obama just ain’t wiring out.)
Well at least the one that we ended up with was the worst disaster creep in my life time...born in 1969 so you can imagine how sick I was that the voters picked a complete and utter disaster and repulsive individual with ZERO principles to represent us. Of course FREEPERS were saying I was wrong from months, but I ended up with a “I told you so”. Some people are just plain STUPID! And there is no cure. We will be hearing from these idiots in 2016 when they pick the next creep in line who won't win. Even some here loath a conservative winning. It is stunning to say the least.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I kept my thin dime too, knowing that big money floats socialists, but conservatives are shut out four years in advance from presidential elections.
Well, my lifetime has lasted 30 years longer than yours—so far, and I can tell you, that in all the years, these were the worst 2 presidential candidates that I can remember.
I know there is something going on-be it the “New World Order”, or something else as nefarious.
I never thought I would live to see the day when American born and bred citizens would want to destroy this once great land-—IMO, the greatest country that ever was.

How lucky for you to live in a time when America was absolutely patriotic and wonderful. I had a good childhood luckily but overall America has gone down from my birth on.....it is a dang shame. I wish you the best and Merry Christmas!
One of the (several) reasons for my gaping lack of enthusiasm towards Romney was my suspicion that his crowd was filled to the brim with this kind of sleazy, crony-esque corruption. Never once did his campaign express any genuine interest in “reform” or confronting the whole professional political class.
Although I obviously wanted Romney to perservere over Obama’s gates-of-hell agenda for America, there was no way on Earth I was going to give a single penny to his campaign and the kind of rotten bastard operatives that surrounded him. The same ones that slimed Palin and her family for years, and then wouldn’t even allow the words “tea party” to be mentioned at the GOP convention. Damn them all to hell.

When he got the nomination I came to the conclusion that Romney was the one who could have done the job best - all his experience with business, having been in government, etc. He had an exceptional track record in business.
Newt would never have been elected although he would have fought back better IMO. Santorum too whiney or something. I sent $ to Newt and Herman Cain - and although Herman was a good idea and had interesting ideas in reality was he prepared to do the job? I would have done anything for Sarah but she was going against the corruption establishment of both parties ...disgusting that they made sure she wouldn’t run.
Which bring me to this. Seems that the powers that be - a group that I imagine doesn’t care that much about which party is in power - are making sure their gravy trains are not disrupted. The rest is a little play to make We The People think we actually have an effect on the whole rotten system.
My one question is - are they really ok with Obama essentially turning us into a communist system??? Or is Obama’s refusal to eliminate loopholes in the tax system something they required to get around the charade of taxing the “rich”?

McCain saying what a great guy Obama was during the campaign was the most stupid remark ever made by a Candidate.
I think that we all need an explanation of how this guy breezed in and took over the party in just 19 years, with only a track record of being to the left of William Weld, and with only a single term as a failure in public office, whose only legacy will be RObamacare and gay marriage as a Governor, and to be the highest ranking religious figure to ever run for office, and the first cult leader.
What was this Romney thing about, what did he represent to the powers that be, not just the GOP powers, but the media as well.
Who created and nurtured this freak from Massachusetts, and how did they manage to do it while at the same time doing everything thing they could to destroy, the 2008 vice-presidential candidate who is a true, lifelong, Reagan republican, and a loyal party member who helped keep the party together after 2008?
