The White House Correspondents Association is strongly urging the Obama administration to allow press access to the presidents official swearing-in ceremony on Jan. 20, following indications from inauguration committee officials that the event could potentially be closed to the press.
Mindful of the historic nature of this occasion, we expect the White House will continue the long tradition of opening the Presidents official swearing-in to full press access, and we as an organization are looking forward to working with the administration to make that happen, Ed Henry, the Fox News correspondent and president of the White House Correspondents Association, said in a statement.

Has a NEW President ever been sworn in on a Sunday, and then again on Monday?
“Probably swearing in on the Koran like he did the first time around.”
or as ake “barry S”

I reckon this time he wants to swear on the Koran...
FYI, he has a public office. By virtue of this, every step is open to public purview. Bath House Barry has the highest PUBLIC office in the land.
He wants to use a copy of Das Kapital for his swearing-in and is afraid it might be awkward if Americans saw him doing it.
Read five by five. No other reason for privacy except for evil shenanigans.
How about “0bama places hand on QURAN again during hidden swearing-in ceremony”
I believe that the Sunday swearing in has occurred five times in the past.
No. Are you?
I do not believe this is correct. These ceremonies have been quite public indeed ever since the first one (George Washington). I can only think of one case where it was done in private (World War 1, Woodrow Wilson’s second term). Can you think of another?
indeed, these events quickly adopted every new technological means to make them even more public...
March 1921 Harding ... loudspeakers
March 1925 Coolidge... national radio broadcast
March 1929 Hoover .... national talking newsreels
January 1949 Truman ... television

Inauguration day has fallen on a Sunday six times in the past:
1821, 1847, 1877, 1917, 1957, 1985.
You heard wrong. In fact he did bungle the swearing in the first time around. Guy is supposed to be smart, but cannot do the repeat after me? And it is a FACT that the following day he officially swore in, and only allowed the presence of one Justice. No press. None of this is on accident.
What is maybe more astonishing is that the Chief Justice would swear the annointed one in using a Quran.
Ronald Reagan’s second swearing-in. From the Senate Inaugurations Committee website: “January 20th fell on Sunday, so Reagan was privately sworn in that day at the White House; public Inauguration on January 21st took place in the Capitol Rotunda, due to freezing weather”
I know he was sworn in a second time but I don’t see a koran.

I don’t see a Bible, either.
The press want to be there for the free liquor, and er..., other stuff:
