(CNN) -- George Zimmerman, charged in the shooting death of a 17-year-old Florida boy, sued NBC Universal on Thursday for using "the oldest form of yellow journalism" by editing an audio tape of his 911 call to make him sound racist, the lawsuit said.
Zimmerman is seeking "damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit" in Seminole County Circuit Court in Florida, where the lawsuit is filed.
Zimmerman, who is Hispanic and is charged with second-degree murder, is accused of fatally shooting Trayvon Martin, who was African-American. The February incident has provoked national controversy.

I am pretty sure they have anticipated these sorts of suits, and have rendered themselves "free of assets", and thus immune from lawsuit.
I believe that this is something criminals learn quite quickly.
YES!!!
wasn’t he a registered Democrat?
I wonder if he’s had time to ponder that
The funny thing, if any major broadcasting firm broke the mold and DID that... they’d quickly eat the lunch of the likes of “See B.S.”
This civil suit may show that NBC is so generally viewed by all Americans that NBC has poisoned the NATIONAL jury pool, rendering it impossible for Zimmerman to get a fair trial anywhere in the United States. Big fallout from that.
Right! We are all affected by news that isn’t true. Some even vote according to what they hear/read. This guy’s/family future has been affected by this no matter the outcome. A class action suit seems sweet! However, I couldn’t take part of it - I don’t watch them. But I am affected by the idiots who do.
What does Zimmerman asking for "damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit" mean?
Also, does he and his attorney have to prove malice?

MSNBC Sharpton went down there to rabble-rouse the natives. He could be next.
I’d imagine that Barack Obama is a distinctly sour taste in his mouth now, and he has to wonder how his fave political party could ever elevate such an imbecile to power.
Traditional First Amendment jurisprudence is that you can say some awfully outrageous things and still walk with impunity. The reverse side of this doubtless helps such outfits as FR itself. But still, there’s a point when you got to wonder if it’s more than dedication to an abstract philosophy, if there’s blind malice and hate going on. The same kind of thing that liberals are quick to slime folks like Rush Limbaugh for, sometimes only on hearsay. Except for liberals it’s true.
And then a time slot geared to a ‘neighbor watch’ for all to report their local politicians/lawyers ripping off citizens of fair trails and taxpayers’ money. They can dispute it only when they fix it. It will not be to offer an ‘excuse’.
Funny how that works. The MSM will beat on you mercilessly until you punch back. Fear works. Lawsuits work. Terrorism works. Threats work. Don't try and get the bastards in the MSM to love you; they see that as weakness. Make them fear you.
We’re I on the jury, about $500 million would be about right.....
Sounds like it might have to be kicked to a special court convened for the purpose of the case, but I dunno.
We will know they are saying “uncle” when we start to hear about “purple drank.”
Lawsuits ought to be brought to a lot of media outlets, just based on their bias. Sue them to send a message....over and over. Do it until they change.
***Zimmerman, who is Hispanic...***
Thank you, CNN. And Michael Martinez. Maybe I haven’t notice it, but precious few msm outlets report that Mr. Zimmerman is Hispanic.
It forces the race-baitors to put this in its proper perspective.
News reports labelled Zimmerman “Hispanic” right from the start, the reason not readily apparent. Possibly his mother, of South American Indian (Peruvian?) ancestry, if I remember correctly, has a Spanish surname.
It just shows how jaded they all are in their little bubble.
They don’t care, they’d rather give each other awards and attend the same cocktail parties. Competition is repugnant to them. Just preach the party line, don’t deviate, never take a chance, it’s dangerous. Take the money, live spoiled and fearful.
