I was suspicious of this story at first, then my suspicions lessened greatly when it was on Reason.com. Reason.com is by no means a fluff magazine or a propaganda piece/outlet by any stretch of the imagination. A fantastic news source.

I then went to Google News and entered the keywords "French troops Syria" and found some news outlets on this. I am beginning to wonder if it is possible French (and/or even British) troops are going in. Hmmm...

Oops, meant to write “preparation.”

In a rush... That’s what you get. <sigh

Now no more distractions...

What do you think about this story and it being on Reason.com?

The USS Eisenhower... 8,000 troops... French/British troops? Ground invasion?

Another questionable source lists that there is an amphibious group with the Eisenhower ... that may be the confusion of the 8,000 troops stuff

Yes, there are some questionable sources surrounding this story... but Reason.com is not questionable by any stretch of the imagination.

Which lessens my suspicions on the matter greatly and makes me wonder what is really going on.

I bet the USS Eisenhower is running chemical weapons drills.

Time to prepare articles of impeachment.

Won't amount to a hill of beans. Congress lost its war declaration powers long ago. Obama's mindset is, "I'm the C-in-C, I control the military. They go where I tell them. This is... uhhh... a global initiative. Uhhh... we are global... uhhh... citizens. This is for the good of the... uhhh... global community."

The next time Obama gives Congress the required notice of intent to commit US ground forces will be the first.

That would be prudent. Assad is said to be considering the Samson scenario with his chemweps. Israel would massively retaliate if a Syrian strike occurs against her, unless O
has secretly agreed to preempt it in some fashion.

I suspect that is why the Eisenhower BG is offshore.

The 8000# came from Russia Today.

This link below takes us to the USN official Ike link.

The Ike carries a compliment of 6,287 sailors including the air jocks and their crew.

There would probably be at least an additional few dozen civilians on board monitoring their products/services in use and helping to maintain them.

A similiar amount of tad naval personnel monitoring and learning.

For the Clancy fans/writers, there will be a half dozen Guys from the farm and that many from No Such Agency.

Scoff all you want peeps, they’re there, like it or not.

USS Eisenhower with 8 fighter bomber squadrons of Air Wing Seven on its decks and 8,000 sailors, airmen and Marines.

The USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group which carries 2,500 Marines.

10,000 US fighting men, 70 fighter-bombers and at least 17 warships, including the three Iwo Jima amphibious craft, a guided missile cruiser and 10 destroyers and frigates.

Patriots deployed on the Turkish-Syrian border, THAD and Aegis on the Syrian coast aboard the USS Eisenhower strike group.

They should have followed Tuco's Law, variant 3: "If you are going to intervene, intervene." Instead, the _resident waits until chemical weapons are out of storage, primed and ready. Then he puts the troops in harm's way. Just like waiting for Iran to get a functional nuke.

Prayers for our troops.

"The arrival of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, one of the 11 US Navy aircraft carriers that has the capacity to hold thousands of men, is now stationed at the coast of Syria, DEBKAfile reports. "

Reason.com is using the same source as RT.

...indicating US preperation for a potential ground intervention.

Intervention?? No, an intervention is what Oprah or Dr Phil conducts. When you send military into a foreign country it is called "invasion."

The little man with cheeks of tan was handed an array of "toys" with which he should never have been entrusted.

Good God, imagine if Bush were in the White House... the "media" and their democrat bosses would be literally and shrilly screaming for heads.

Comment:

Time to smell the coffee.

Syria is one more revolution that is part of arab spring operation. Brought to us by the globalist/elites.

Essentially these revolutions are Globalist / Soros revolutions that the State Dept provides funding for through USAID and other programs. The US Military is used, as it was in Libya, to keep the target nation from using large air campaigns to defeat the insurgency. The CIA is used where necessary (as these are official U.S. operations).

Please read the State Depts own websites. It's there, it's just not put on TV so no one knows about it. Who sits and reads the State Dept websites ? Almost no one.

The ping list Link takes you the a keyword search of all the MEPI threads on FR.

The pictures are links you can click on as well.

The Ike carries a compliment(sic) of 6,287 sailors including the air jocks and their crew.

That figure might have been the max TO when the boat was launched but there are not that many bodies on the Ike. Ships company is about 3200 with ~2000 attached to the CVW.
