Do they have the ability to destroy seran gas without spreading it?
That is what the idiots running the west right now do not realize. They cannot get Assad to leave by offering him asylum. He represents a significant ethnic group. It is not just about him. If he leaves, his entire extended ethnic family of thousands, will be killed and tortured by the Islamic Insurgents and Sunni Rebels.
That is what they tried to do during the first Gulf War. They bombed all of Saddams facilities. Later on they discovered that bombing the facilities released the elements into the immediate area. In Iraq they were located out in the dessert. In Syria they are located close to residential areas. One of the bombed facilities in Iraq, was damaged so bad that the UN could not even enter the facility. They just sealed it and left it there. After the final war to remove Saddam, the facility was still there and still sealed by the UN. So the claim that WMD was not in Iraq was patently false, as every thing else that ever came out of the Oligarchies mouth. They initially left the facility sealed, then came back and found that the facility had been entered and cleaned out of its WMD. No one knows who got the stuff.
So if the US wants to continue its primary objective in the Middle East and Africa, which appears to be getting WMD into the hands of Islamic terrorists, then they will bomb his facilities by air.
The fleet.
Is the navy having problems staffing its ships with qualified personnel?
The Navy is being forced to do more with less. Technology improvements have reduced the required number of bodies but the Navy is shrinking and a lot of sailors are getting RIF'd. The CVW alone requires fewer mechanics, technicians, pilots, etc. ...

Interesting as I’ve always understood Reason was extremely left wing. I’ll have to drop by, and read there one of these days.
Whatever the reason is, it almost certainly can't be good.

“Funded by donations from almost 30,000 Avaazers, an Avaaz team is working closely with the leadership of democracy movements in Syria, Yemen, Libya and more to get them high-tech phones and satellite internet modems, connect them to the world’s top media outlets, and provide communications advice. We’ve seen the power of this engagement — where our support to activists has created global media cycles with footage and eyewitness accounts that our team helps distribute to CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera and others. The courage of these activists is unbelievable — a skype message read ‘state security searching the house, my laptop battery dying, if not online tomorrow I’m dead or arrested’. He’s ok, and together we’re helping to get his and many other voices out to the world. “
