I don’t know what your deal is arguing with me. I’m just stating that almost all states regard property before the marriage as separate, and that the items and money made after they are married as the joint property that needs to be divided. And if they have a prenup that may affect division as well.
You can say all the platitudes you want, but the courts and the laws are set up this way.
And most people who get divorced do not believe they are in a pretend marriage and did go into the marriage “marrying the whole package”. Most people don’t get married with an ultimate goal of getting divorced.
