California´s largest for-profit health insurer, Anthem Blue Cross, is seeking to raise rates an average of 18% for more than 630,000 individual policyholders, drawing scrutiny from regulators and the ire of consumers already struggling with soaring premiums. Some Anthem customers may see rates rise as much as 25% in February under the company´s proposal at a time when medical inflation is running at historic lows nationwide. The increases are among several others proposed by California insurers, including Aetna Inc. and Health Net Inc. California insurance regulators will take the next month to review whether these rate increases are warranted,

CareFirst BC/BS of MD just raise their rates for 2013 by 19 percent for healthy young adults in their mid twenties. But forget about Sen Babs Mikulski doing anything about it, as she indicated to me that she wouldn’t the last time they raised their rates and i asked her to look into it. guess what company gave a sizable campaign donation to her last re-election bid?

The average I hear for folks with long standing company plans is a 28.5% premium increase.
When you add on the reduction in the Flex account from $5,000 to $2,500, the increased cost to me is $2,300/yr.
Already was notified. I bought a policy from them in 2005. It had a $5,000 deductible because I am healthy and I didn’t want a high monthly payment. It was $150 a month when I started. Last month is was $410. Just received notification that beginning February 1 it will be $510. Still $5,000 deductible. Thank goodness I start a job in January and health care kicks in 90 days later, I figure April 1st.
